If people are interested, I will try to give some updated rankings throughout the season. Nice to see some others posting scoring results as well (Preseason ranking in parenthesis):

1. St Aloysius (1) - Rocky jamboree with a 2 point win over SGS. Didn't play in the Sacred Heart tournament. First game is against Ascension Catholic.

2. OLOM (2) - Won the Sacred Heart tournament with wins over STM (by 4), CHS (by 5), and SJV (by 6). Point guard looking like a MOP candidate.

3. STM (4) - Lost a close one early against OLOM in Sacred Heart Tourney, but ended up defeating a very solid Sacred Heart team in the consolation championship. Their size is going to cause people trouble.

4. CHS (6) - Crushed St Jude. 5 point loss to Mercy. Came back from 14 down to beat St George by 5 and win 3rd place in Sacred Heart tournament.

5. SJV (unranked) - Center looks like a first team all CSAA player. Come back wins against Sacred Heart and St George in SH Tourney, and lost to OLOM 27-21 in championship game. Also defeated Alphonsus in jamboree.

6. St. George - Green (4) - Gave up leads against SJV and CHS. Would not want to face them at the end of the season when their coaching staff has them clicking.

7. Sacred Heart (9) - Very scrappy. Like to trap and make the game messy.

8. St Theresa (7)

9. St. Jude (3) - Excellent point guard, but struggled against CHS and Sacred Heart. Did have a win over Holy Family.

10. St. Alphonsus (8) - Close loss against SJV in jamboree.

Fallen from Rankings: Holy Family (10)

8th grade games resume on 1-4-18.

They have entered the often-held debate about the greatest CSAL/CSAA team in history with the 1997 St. George Dragons and the 1996 STM Eagles.

Didn't make the 97 Dragons... I was relegated to the CYO white team.... but even the STM CYO team was a powerhouse

Fantastic bball during those years

IMO, their center (30) has talent, but he’s hot & cold - with needless player control fouls vs MERCY that fouled him out - when the Gators were on the cusp of an upset.

Watch (34) F/G and the PG/SG (#42?). These two are their better tandem. 34 is rebounder, steals and clutch point maker & 42 is one if the quickest guards with great handles & cross-over.
SJV - although not a deep bench - could surprise the “major players” this year!

who keeps the official CSAA standings? Looks like it is going to be a tight battle for the regular season title.

Please keep us updated, BearTiger!

Updated Rankings 3rd addition. Previous Ranking in Parenthesis:

1. OLOM (2) - Moved up more based on their win over STM, and how well STM has been playing. Matchup with Aloysius Thursday night is for the current #1 ranking.

2. STM (3) - Won the St George tournament with wins over St. Theresa, MBS and Runnels (not a CSAA member.) Their size is causing teams major problems. No weaknesses on this squad.

3. St. Aloysius (1) - The most talented team in CSAA, but haven't been tested yet. That changes with the game of the week against Mercy on Thursday. Would likely move back up to #1 with a win on Thursday. They handled Ascension Catholic in their only regular season game to date.

4. CHS (4) - Third place in St George tournament. Only team that has victories over 5 top 10 CSAA teams (SJV, St. Theresa, Sacred Heart, St. Jude and St. George Green)

5. SJV (5) - Gave up the lead and lost to CHS. Well balanced team, but have they hit their ceiling at 5?

6. St. Theresa (8) - Impressive performance in St. George Tournament with wins against St. George, Holy Family, and St. Jude. Fell to CHS by 5 in third place game.

7. St Jude (9) - Have made the biggest push as of late. Recent wins over St. George (Green) and Sacred Heart. Lost to St. Theresa. Their point guard is making them a tough out for anyone.

8. Sacred Heart (7) - Lost to St Jude and CHS in St. George Tourney. They need to be on from the perimeter in order to make some noise.

9. St. George Green (6) - Looks like St. George is on the bubble for the first time in a long time after going 2 and out in their own tournament.

10. St. Alphonsus (10)
