Albany, NY last game tips at 10:35???

This isn't because the first game went to triple overtime or something.

Unfair to fans, IMO

It was supposed to start earlier. But one of the other games must have pushed it back.

A legit fear I have leaving Central Time Zone for living. ET (where I grew up) is brutal for live sports.

That's one of the reasons I never have any interest moving there. It sucks arse being a fan when so many games end so late.

Central Time is proverbial sweet spot of sports.

In football times, you get 10 am kick offs in the NFL if you are in the Pacific Time Zone. And MNF starts at 5:15 pm Pacific Time. Most people aren’t even home from work at that time.

Heck, I remember when they tried starting MNF at 8:15/8:30 Central Time. WVUE (affiliated with ABC at the time) aired the Jim Mora show preempting ABC’s programming in that hour.

With that late of a start time, that meant the games on the East coast were starting in the 9 pm hour and going past midnight to almost 1 am.

But yes starting sporting events late are terrible, but in college they almost seem normal. Just look at past SEC Baseball Tournament weather delays and sometimes starting or restarting games near midnight in the central time zone.

Other sports oddities, there are late Saturday night west coast college football games that start at 7 or 8 pacific time or 10 or 11 pm eastern.

It is not just college, but the NBA has its share of late night west coast games too with eastern opponents. My favorite oddity of insanity has to be western conference teams that are in the central time zone and play in a playoff game or nationally televised game, they get the 8:35/8:45 tip offs.

It sucks. I just moved to ET. It's horrible for watching sports especially during weekday and considering I go to the gym in the morning before work I can't watch a game that starts a 8:30 or later

Hawaii time is interesting. I was there once during college football season. You could wake up at 7am for the shitty Big-10 game between Purdue and Northwestern and watch football all day....until 7pm when all of the games for the day were done.

During the NBA Playoffs lots of games scheduled for 9 PM starts don't start until 9:45 PM. The TNT games never started before 9:30 PM. It's the nature of the beast. Be glad you are not having to cover the game. For Dallas, most regular season games started at 7:30. If you lived 20 minutes away, you got to bed around 11 PM. You wouldn't get to bed til 1 AM for some of those "9 PM" starts.

I have similar experiences of eating breakfast watching CFB when my brother lived in Anchorage. Watched a few Jefferson-Pilot SEC games that way.

You’d think Hawaii games when they are good or playing somebody good would be higher rated… it might be late, but they have no competition in their time slot

I traveled out east several years ago. There was a playoff game that didn't start until 10:30 in the middle of the week. frick all of that.

I remember many nights staying up to midnight listening to MNF with Jack Buck and Hank Stram on my radio hoping the game wouldn't go to OT. Some nights I'd even fall asleep in the 2nd half. I was so glad sometime in the late '90s the games were moved up a hour.
