Well, he won't catch Jack. He could win one. He could even win two more. He ain't winning four more majors. No one wins four majors after turning 42. Hell, Nicklaus only won one after 40. The last four or five years torpedoed any chance Tiger had of catching Nicklaus.

It's over after 2.

He'll have to shoot something like -14 or -16 under over the remaining 70 holes with 0 margin for error.

Aint happening

texastiger38 is as big a Tiger fan as there is and this was his post Thursday. Insane Tiger went -17 over his next 70 holes and still lost.

I'm as big of a Tiger hater out there and thought he'd never compete at a Buick Classic or a Doral, much less a major. What he's done is simply remarkable, bordering on miraculous. That Houdini front 9 yesterday was great theater, even for those of us rooting against him. There's no doubt that Tiger has always had the ability to screw down his powers of concentration in the crucible like the truly elite athletes and yesterday showed he still has it.

However, Tiger's window to bring home another major is extremely small. He's already had significant knee and back issues and as he gets closer to his mid-40s those will be a bigger factor. Also, just his advanced age will diminish his skills at a time the Tour is deeper than ever with young talent.

Personally, I think Tiger has exactly 4 majors to get it done then his window closes forever. A 44 year old with back issues ain't beating young bucks in their prime.

I don't disagree with you, but I give him 12 or so.

Also, why are so many Alabama fans haters of Lebron and Tiger?

I'm out here representing by myself.

Wrong. How old was Tom Watson when he 3 putted the British Open away? Tiger has at least that long and Tiger>>>>>>>>>>>Tom. Tiger beats Jack's major total. Forty is the new thirty. Tiger knows Augusta, and Tiger can compete at the British til he's sixty!!

No that would be me. Did y'all miss me?

Tiger shot the best final round of his majors career and still lost.

Not good for him considering the young talent ahead of him.

He lost by two strokes to the 2nd best golfer in the world right now, the rest of young talent around him crumbled on Sunday.

I'm not a hater but I'm not really a fan either. I have to agree with this. It was some of the most entertaining golf I ever saw. He made I think it was 3 birdies before he ever hit a fairway. I think he gets the GOAT tag now if he just ties Jack's record.

That's the main thing he has in common with Nicklaus. I remember growing up watching Jack and it seemed like he never missed a putt that he really, desperately needed to make. It was like he used The Force to make the ball go into the hole through sheer willpower. Tiger has that same ability.

This was the biggest thing that stood out to me about Tiger on Sunday. All the circus shots from crazy lies/angles were very impressive but nailing all those high pressure putts was vintage Tiger Woods. I forgot just how good he was when he gets dialed in like that on the green.

That was his biggest advantage over the field during his prime imo and thats the first time we’ve seen him do that in a major in many years. That had to do wonders for his confidence moving forward.
