Yeah I was thinking of Buffet's quote "be fearful when others are greedy". I don't market time so I'm not selling, but for the last couple months I've been directing new contributions to bonds. This is mainly to re-balance, but also give me even more funds to use if there is a correction.

I think about this about once a month, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I was 100% growth, adjusted to a 70/30 at the end of Sept to protect 23% gain for the year. I have missed out on the additional 10% if I just left it alone

I just wish I would have rebalanced into my current buy and hold portfolio earlier in the year. I would be up well over 30%.
But i have it set now and I’m not touching it for a while.

My returns will not be as stellar as most of yours.
401K is 6.98% YTD
IRA's are 3.99% YTD. I only have four remaining:
Rolled over Fairholme last January. Fairholme exceeded market averages for a few years but you gotta fix a chronically leaking boat. and Fidelity Select Energy is down about 11.2% YTD.

Buffet also said the most money is make in times of greatest pessimism.

I have increased my percentage of cash. Only when the tide goes out do we see who is swimming naked. (In a bull market nearly everyone is a genius.)

I do not like being mostly on the sidelines having rebalanced earlier but the other shoe will drop at some point.
