Just loving the fact that I sold my small amount of shares back when it was at $67 or so.

If you're in to earnings plays, ASYS will blow out consensus estimates on 2/7. My figures have them beating by at least 13 cents (a bat of about 35%), and this on conservative assumptions and a fully diluted share basis.

Give them a look. Do your own DD.

I'd be interested in seeing what anyone else's projected bottom lines look like after they crunch the numbers.

Broke $80 this morning. Needs to get over this hump. Word is, if it gets and stays over $80, its set to move up.

The investment in Nat. Gas will payoff soon.

I've got XOM left to me by a great aunt ... her husband was an attorney for Esso way back when. He got nice stock options ... he died in 76 and she in 1993. She was a millionaire mainly from the stocks from what I remember.

I was fortunate enough to inherit a few shares which has split I think 3 times since I got it ... hoping it will help out when I'm ready to retire (I'm only 41 so it won't be anytime soon).

I have a few family member who have been at XOM for 30 years. I love knowing that these simple hard working guys are going to be worth a few million when they retire. All they did was bust their arse their whole working life. To this day they still drive used cars and brown bag their lunches every day. I have heard them slip up while having drinks a few times and I know that they are loaded and it is only getting better for them.

The common man can do well with a good company.

As far as my great aunt, we NEVER knew a thing about the $$ until she died ... shopped only 75%+ off sales, no waste, etc .. a product of the depression.

I heard the hump was actually $82.31 so you've got a little time left.

Two weeks ago I would have picked BP over XOM.

Up another 2% today. Stock is on fire for such a large company. Up almost 50% from last summer's lows.

If it can sustain these levels for a couple of months, it will split 2 for 1.

You don't think inflation will have an impact on what they have previously precieved as a high price for XOM stock? They had higher prices in 07-08 and didn't split so I don't see how you developed this prediction.

So that leads me to the question what causes/brings on/makes a stock split? How is the company decision to call a 2 for 1 split made?

I've held XOM for many years. I've noticed that whenever the price hits and holds $80-$90 for a while, the board authorizes a split.
As W. Bush said, "This ain't rocket surgery."
