Russian you have always been bull on XOM, rightfully so, how long do you see this run for?
I thought that BP making a deal with Russia would have helped them some...

Agreed.

Is there a better buy-and-hold stock out there than XOM?

If there is, please someone convince me about it so I can buy it.

XOM has increased its dividend for 28 consecutive years, including the "dark years" 2008 and 2009.

I've worked tangentially with some senior XOM management on some financial issues and, to use an overused phrase, they are always the smartest persons in the room, IMO. (Except for me, of course. )

Thanks. It was a trip of a lifetime. We've been planning it for a long time. Just needed an excuse (big anniversary) to do it.

I can't even describe the feeling I had standing on the ground in Antarctica. The air was so pure (outside of penguin range, or course ) that it smelled differently from anywhere else I've been, even Alaska. Alaska has trees. For the 6 days we were in Antarctica, I didn't see a single tree, not even driftwood on the shore. It was surreal.

I have a few family member who have been at XOM for 30 years. I love knowing that these simple hard working guys are going to be worth a few million when they retire. All they did was bust their arse their whole working life. To this day they still drive used cars and brown bag their lunches every day. I have heard them slip up while having drinks a few times and I know that they are loaded and it is only getting better for them.

And you believed them when they told you this!!

I love it when people judge others negatively without any knowledge of them.

just kidding around, I retired from exxon last year and all my working buds and I laugh at each other when we hear them tell their friends and family how hard they have to work in the refinery. 90% of the guys i worked with had easy jobs. my apologies if it offended you, I've spent too much time reading the rant!!!
