I can only hope that there is a news alert in this thread for every single time the DJIA changes between positive and negative (daily gains) for the rest of eternity. We might need to set a refresh frequency to ensure multiple posts within a second are not needed. I would say on a minute refresh timing but am open to discussion.

idk sounds like he may have been more conservative than he should have been and missed on one hell of a bull run.

I’m starting to think this correction has more to do with Bernie gaining lead rather than this virus. Either way, tomorrow should be pretty telling if that theory is true.

The correction was due. I think the virus and its effect on people/the economy will determine how low it goes. It has the potential to be very damaging to the economy even if it's effect on human life is minimum. We need to see the virus numbers start to drop or some sort of vaccine.

Holy shite, the volatility.
This thing is bouncing.

As I wrote that, it (Dow) moved another 300 pints in minutes

You don’t believe this.

Sure does seem like an emergency rate cut by the Fed, indicates they know something that the public doesn’t. Why would the fed adjust rates because of something not nearly as bad as the flu?

"The fundamentals of the US economy remain strong. However, the coronavirus poses evolving risks to economic activity,"

Everything is fine. The economy is strong. But here’s an emergency rate cut. That’s a mixed message.

I think this is a perfect statement to describe what they believe to be the current situation.

Said another way

"we don't believe this to be an issue due to the strength of our economy. to keep people from panic selling, as well as match what our counterparts in other countries have already done, we will be temporarily reducing rates in an effort to alleviate some of this volatility"

Def a knee jerk reaction. They can’t fix a lack of supply
