Regardless of my personal political leanings I don’t care what my clients support. I don’t share openly share with them my political views.
There is a lot of virtue signaling in this world that is the main thing I see. It’s like a team sport. I don’t see the logic in alienating half your potential customers.
However, I would say that most business owners are either moderates or conservatives so I don’t have to deal with people with what I consider extreme views.
Unfortunately social media and mainstream media sells an inaccurate view of the world. Most people are reasonable and just want life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness.

Just because someone owns a business, doesn’t mean they’re smart. They think that their social media posts or signs in their window will change people’s minds, when in reality its just going to run off a percentage of their customers.

If you own a gun store in rural Arkansas, I sort of get it, but otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

New Orleans restaurant owners should take note of this

Seems like more major corporations support liberal causes and more local/small business generically supports conservative messaging.

Any political signage or ideation will typically alienate 40-50% of the population.
Chic-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby are the only businesses I can think of (it is more religious than political) that are able to deal with that climate.

To start a business requires a bit of an ego.
That same ego leads to situations like this

Some just give zero fricks, like the owner of Poseidon’s in Lafayette.
But his place has the best damn lamp chops in the state (in my unprofessional opinion), and he’s been in business a long time with a good following.

They've given themselves to whatever echo chamber they live in. Enthusiastic self brainwashing.

Elon getting involved in politics hurts his company more than most because Elon himself was Tesla's marketing department.
For years Tesla could get away with not having to pay for advertising due to all the exposure the company got by Elon being a public figure that attracted customers. Now not so much.

When I lived in Portland, OR, every business had a BLM sign in their window. If you didn't, the lefties would confront you and boycott if you didn't comply.
I knew a taproom owner who was a Trump supporter, but he had a BLM sign in his window, like everyone else. He just went along to get along. I'm not sure if it was the lost business or the threat of vandalism that worried him more if he had decided to take a stand on that.
