That's only because you don't know what you are doing in crypto.
Not everyone is in this thread is to bicker or throw darts. Some of us have an interest in these markets, but are not yet taking part.
So please explain what you have done, or are doing, when the crypto market takes a downturn.

I still get a paycheck daily in BTC.
Got one this AM. A % was converted to USD. I transfer that USD to my Checking account every WEEK.
It's NICE!

I would think he is doing what we doin the market. Continue to buy and expect a nice check when it bounces back. Like the market.
He could being using the bots to trade for him on the ups and downs...

Another thing I don’t fully understand. Why convert to USD?
Why not Ethereum or other crypto that converts to your advantage?
And do you have an option to get paid in USD?
Seems that might make the most sense considering the risks of price fluctuations with bitcoin ie November to today…

I think he mines. Which is like a continuous running DCA, but for the lesser cost of electricity.

I mean it always sounds worse when you only consider the worst possible time frame. What if he had been doing that since March of 2020? Or even 2013? You can make it seem like whatever you want if you're cherry picking the window to make a point, but of course that's silly to do. That may be part of the gap in your understanding, is your voluntary perspective from the bias you have towards it
There is long term and short term. There have been
very few things as solid of investments as long crypto.

I picked that time frame because he is getting paid in bitcoin, not just trading it.
If I was getting paid in bitcoin and it was tanking like it has been then I’d immediately halt it and go to the USD. I guess it all depends on what’s at stake for the individual.
No way I’m subjecting my family to that kind of fluctuation in my paycheck

Afraid this is likely the best answer. I don’t see any fundamental news out there to explain it.

Why do you ask questions over and over to just give us your answer anyway?

You picked it because of your bias coming in. At least be honest. Your explanation of picking a time frame makes no sense. Getting paid in BTC = use the worst window of analysis?

Again because of your arbitrary time window. I could arbitrarily pick 2 days ago and your choice would make the opposite of sense.

Shame you wouldn't want your money to have increased in the past couple days/weeks, guess you don't like earning money for your family. See how arbitrarily selecting Windows to make a point is silly yet?
It's just wild you dont even realize the biased approach of analysis you use.

Liquidating shorts and running stops and then into the tank we go.

Some very odd comments but seems to me more deflection rather than facing the questions right on.
Fyi crypto is not the only way to earn money for my family. Not even close. I’ve earned a lot of money. Owning business, investing in equities, real estate and other avenues have been very lucrative ways in which I have earned money. I would never accept any of the funds in any of these transactions from a currency as volatile as bitcoin or Ethereum. It’s insanely risky. I would and have taken the USD that I earn and invest it in a risky investment. I’ve pointed this out already. I’ve lost a lot of money. Lessons have been learned.
I get my money in usd and always have. I have never ever lost money based on a conversion the likes of what we’ve seen in the past 6 months with bitcoin or Ethereum.
So I point out the time period to make this VERY important point. It is relevant. Why do you ignore that?!
And for those that are all in on crypto, why convert it to USD?
Why not convert Bitcoin to Ethereum or vice versa and avoid the involvement with the USD?

You’re a broken record, let this thread die.
You keep arguing crypto vs USD. Most crypto projects are not seeking to compete with USD (INCLUDING ETHEREUM) and many people have tried to tell you this.
Quite frankly you don’t know very much about blockchain or crypto and should just forget about it completely unless you’re willing to educate yourself.

From reading his comments, he said he lost a lot of money. My guess is he jumped in without any research, got burned, and here we are.

So you’ve done your research eh?
Which coin do you use to buy things?
What coins do you accept as currency?
How do you measure the instrinsic value?
