Yeah, not just starting salaries, but raises were basically held flat a solid 2 year period between 2008-2009... certainly not the 10% annual raises everyone seemed to promise during recruiting.

Electrical Engineer

2005 = $31,200.00
2013 equivalent = $37,317.95

I started at the bottom, but it got my foot in the door and the experience is now definitely paying off.

Started in the summer of 2010 and the inflation calculator shows about a 6500 dollar difference which is a little less than what my raises have been since.
