Starbucks is going to get hammered long term

I realized today as I saw a line around the block at the Starbucks drive through that so many people are going to get weaned off their $12 a day Starbucks habit as they are forced to learn how to make good coffee at home.
With that will come the satisfaction of making good coffee at home, and the realization that you’re saving literally thousands of dollars per year in doing so. Feel like this will impact Starbucks for a long arse time.

Nope. You overestimate people, and underestimate laziness and convenience.

These people aren't after good coffee.

Nobody is going to Starbucks for coffee. They're going for the specialty drinks that include coffee.

Every time someone post about Starbucks the daily spend joke gets higher and higher. Used to be $5, then $8, now $12. LOL
Starbucks isn’t going to be hurting long term

I walk and get a cup every morning from my local PJs. The coffee I've been making the past 3 weeks at my house is much better.
I'll be the first customer at PJs the morning they reopen.

Everyone will go back to what they were doing. No one will be better because of this unfortunately.
My $0.02.
My $0.02.

The appeal of starbucks isn't the coffee, it's walking around with a starbucks cup in your hand. The coffee is pretty dreadful.

That's not the appeal at all.

I disagree. I regularly drink Starbucks because I can order it on my phone and pick it up on the way to work in the morning. When I'm home on the weekends I use a stovetop percolator, which I've been using for the last 3 weeks.
I admit it's saving me money, but I also admit when working at home is no longer a thing I will most likely go back to picking up my Starbucks on the way to work.

You could use a 15 year old Mr. Coffee and a can of Folger's and make better coffee than anything Starbucks sells.

You people and your community love. It’s not good once you’ve had good coffee

I agree. It's burnt tasting.

Really curious what Starbucks March and April in store sales will be like in China. Could be a huge indicator how quickly the us economy could open back up.

Your reasoning for Starbucks getting hammered...is that theres lines around the block for Starbucks? These people arent getting weaned off, they are still getting Starbucks

The "$12 a day" drinks at starbucks aren't regular coffees...those are frapuchinnos and whatnot with syrup that most people can't/don't feel like making at home

And you will lose money every time you do this, BTW.

I said Folger's.
And I said it's better than anything Starbuck's offers. NOT better than good coffee.

Nope.
Everything will go back to the way it was, but now there will be huge pent up demand for anything that gets people out of the house.
