I tried to get a lot of my family into precious metals years ago. They never really grasped the concept.

A couple of them even hated on me at a Thanksgiving event in 2022 about buying it.

The metals space has been ripping ever since. A few of them have been texting me about buying lately and I can't help but chuckle internally.

I started hoarding like I was Scrooge McDuck back in 4/2022. I told every family member I know, most of my friend circle, told my coworkers, and posted on social media. I think 5 people took me up on it and joined the party and man those 5 are thanking me profusely these days and everyone else doesn't want to talk about it it's like the people who danced like puppets for the government about C19. Now it's crickets because they know they were wrong.

I literally at Thanksgiving 2023 walked around and handed a 1964 Kennedy half dollar to every single adult in my family but I made them listen to my 5 minute spiel about how a 1964 Corvette was $4,000 off the show room floor because we had real value in our money and that if you had 7,999 more of those coins today (being 11/2023) it would be worth $68,571 which still would drive a new Corvette off the lot. Do you know how many of them bought silver in the last 2 years? Zero

Today however that same $4,000 is $181,400 which would buy you the ZR1 straight off the showroom floor.

Metals space is starting to feel like AI chips, rare earths, and quantum computing now. Very parabolic. Very frothy.

That said, gold looks like its about to blast through a cup & handle, like silver did at $58.

The AI bubble is going to burst in 2026 and that will trigger a pretty massive capital rotation event which is going to make the hard asset race wild

Yeah I wound up pulling the trigger on getting the Washington coins from Scottsdale to keep my collection going but I wanted to wait but was worried once gold starts going again I was going to kick myself.

So, what the YT guy is saying is that they'll declare force majeure and even if spot price jumps to over $100, anyone holding the ETFs will get a check in the $60s?

The prospectus is here I would probably feed it to one of the AI and get a summary there.

I cannot imagine the levels of insanity one must be under to own shares of SLV or GLD literally the custodian is JP Morgan you know the ones who were jailed and fined almost a billion dollars for precious metals rigging. That's like the fox guarding the hen house. Needless to say I don't really know or care how those ETFs operate. If I did own any shares I would most certainly sell now take the fiat $$$ and run to my local coin shop and buy physical metals

Funny side note one of my co-workers went to high school with one of the JPM traders who did get jailed.

The AI Asian guy is distracting. It’s even harder to take serious when he says SLV could declare force majeure today and then choose to pay you last week’s spot price.

I normally don't watch full YouTube videos. I have the attention span of a gnat. I watched that whole thing and, Fooking wow! This is the start of what all of those guys have been predicting for a year.

I made stacks, but coinage only in $1 eagles, 1/10th oz Maple leaf's, Krugerrands, and that one Morgan gold I showed you. I also did a few kilo's, a bunch of 10 oz. and some 100 oz. bars. I spent a good chunk of my inheritance stacking. My wife finally got it and spent a good chunk of hers, stacking, as well.

ETA: Now, it just remains to be seen which one is right. The all had predictions. $100, $200,$ $330 $600, $1,000-$10,000 silver.

Those damned electronic ricers. One thing he sai dthat is right is that the big buyers are going to push back their settlement date.

From the JM Bullion webpage:

High Sell To Us volume is causing delays. Processing and payment may take 7+ business days after arrival.

I haven’t attempted it, but there might be a scarcity on bullion right now. Or you pay a hefty premium to the dealer on top of the spot price.

The unknown is whether this is just a run or will all this doomsday ETF stuff play out. If the mints actually do stop, it will be wild. But I doubt the dollar gets destroyed along the way.

It’s not if, it’s When! The musical chairs are active. I’m old but I expect the dollar’s reign will end in my lifetime. Bretton Woods to the PetroDollar has run its course. What’s next?

We’ve been selfishly careless with our fiscal management. We all know how that ends. Fortunately most of the civilized world is in the same basket. That doesn’t effectively ease my concern.

I and a physical holder, but I have a large amount of my IRA in SLV and GLD. I obviously can’t liquidate those holdings but I’m waiting until we get closer to $100 spot for silver.

Can you not flip those to SIL, SILJ, GDX, & GDXJ? That gives you exposure to the silver & gold miners both major & junior without having to do a lot of research and they are indexed across quality miners.

I prefer the Sprott ETFs personally but I would get as far away from JPMC being the custodian of physical metal when you know they have rehypothecated it more times than anyone can imagine.

$1,000-$10,000 silver

You probably heard the 10k number from someone like Bix Weir his heart's in the right place but he loves his hyperbole. Sure given a long enough timeline but I expect even at those upper prices the fiat FRN will be so worthless you will only be trading silver for assets directly until the replacement unit of exchange is deployed.

$100, $200

This could be in play next year but I expect a pretty violent pullback especially if we get towards the upper bound.

$330 $600

I'm still thinking $600 is going to be in the 2029-2030 timeframe
