Both of my policies are coming up for renewal. What increases are you seeing? I am in south Louisiana.

My UPC HO went up from $7400 to $10,700, even though I did not make an Ida claim and have never made a HO claim. But I was lucky enough to get a policy with a much better insurer for less than my previous year's premium and for more coverage.

Alot....home went up $500. From 1,400 per year to 1,900 per year. Auto went up from 170 per month (2 cars) to 210 per month.

This is irrelevant. The market in places Louisiana, Florida and California is imploding. Carriers are taking massive losses and getting crushed in court on both property and liability claims.

No it's not irrelevant. My premiums would have gone up even more, had I actuallu made a claim.

Home - NO claim and up 80%
Auto - Up 10% on liability, 50% on Comp and 15% on collision with avg annual miles drive down 75% too.
Typical agent bullshite line - everything is going up. Asked for specifics and why. No answer.
One of the greatest scams going are the insurance companies.

I agree, they probably would’ve just dropped you.

Hurricane claim- no its not relevant.
And congrats on moving your coverage, but now you have no guarantee that your new insurer won't drop you at next renewal. Who's the new company?

My Geico auto policy went from 2100/year to 3200/year . Had 100/300/100, now 50/100/50 for that price. I did have a speeding ticket so I'm sure that didn't help.

Your HO is less than $2K? You live in a cardboard box?

Suprised reading this thread (guess I shouldn’t be with inflation being what it is) Our auto actually went down 8% or so between my wife and I vehicle — no claims, Farm Bureau.
Home insurance went up 3%ish - Farm Bureau, no claims.

While they may be true, the price to replace a car is up, parts are up, labor is up. It makes sense. Not to mention litigation is up. It’s all fricked
