Does anyone have ideas of what someone with a degree in education and a master in educational leadership can do professionally outside of the education system?

Some healthcare systems have training programs that employees and physicians must go through in order to gain access to the system EMR. Occasionally, I see people with educational backgrounds in these 'training' positions, and in training manager/director positions.

There are many jobs that just require a degree in something. Of course there is always sales.

Can I ask why you would be wanting to make a change?

There are plenty of education-focused nonprofits in need of leaders/administrators, esp in the NOLA area. If you have classroom/adult ed skills, you might look for something in corporate training, perhaps in the HR realm.

Just getting burned out in education. Got into it for the coaching part but long hours are tough with growing family.

Might want to change your user name/location for a little more anonymity when posting questions like this--you never know who is lurking.

Most of the coaches I know who got burned out either moved to administration (principal/vice principal) or sold insurance (Allstate, State Farm).

About 2 years ago I decided to change careers and enter the insurance business and I love it. I did have a leg up though as it was already the family business.

Since your expertise includes coaching, look at parish/municipal recreation departments. Those depts often hire directors of team sports programs, or specifically youth sports programs. The coaching/sports angle might also put you in good stead if you wanted to transition into personal training/fitness, or as a manager/owner of a gym or fitness club. Getting certified as a trainer isn't rocket science.

Get in another industry and find a reputable online program.

At least that's what I'm doing.
