Outside of a 529 plan, I would like to put like $10 per week aside for my son to a certain stock to give to him after College, or once he's out on his own.

I currently invest $10 every 2 weeks into FB for my God Children. It's worked out for them thus far.

Again, I'm not worried about swings of the market or Risk of a single stock investment. This is Lagniappe.

Edit: kidding so far as the absolute 1 stock, but it might make you some money.

I work for a large Petrochem company, and am offered Stock at a discount. Thought about that as well.

You need to take advantage of that stock plan. It's such a damn good deal in most cases.

I'm assuming you are buying fractional shares? Never done that but I would think the fees eat up all your returns.

I would go with an ETF index that tracks the market but since you want 1 stock, I would go with one of the FANG stocks. Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Alphabet (Google).

One of my coworkers kept hyping that stock last year but he seems crazy

It looked to be pretty volatile

Guess I should look into what they do

BTW how are you buying stock 10 dollars at a time? Is there a way to buy fractional shares of stock with no trading commission?

MSFT has a DRIP plan. You have to do $25.

MSFT has transformed itself the last 5 years and is now very much a growth story. Very strong balance sheet.
