I mean other than bitcoin is it pretty much who's the most popular girl at the moment? just seems like there are 5 new ones a day. Its seems like a pyramid scheme followed by momentum for a few days then ride it for a few days then dump. On to the next popular girl. I'm interested in investing in Crypto but this just seems like the wild west
with no regulation at the moment. Is there a really good website that explains what are the true contenders? Im tired of people telling me to buy this one and then telling me 3 days later to sell it. I understand there is a whole thread dedicated to this but i aint reading 100 pages of buy this crypto

You're regurgitating conversations from 2017.

This is the wild west. You don't know who the winners and losers are going to be. That's why the returns are insane.

In my opinion, only Bitcoin wins in the end and there will be thousands of layer 2s built on top of Bitcoin that will make the other alts useless.

But that's just it, nobody knows.

I would stay away at these levels. You’re probably closer to the end of the current bull run. I’m just not convinced that crypto is a great inflation hedge when it is so correlated with equities now. Probably the best crypto stock play is BRPHF, but it is overbought at the moment and you can probably pick it up under $23 in the next month or two.

this is one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on this board.

You're right. Platforms like Ethereum and Solana and their layer 2's have zero use and zero real people using them daily. Guess I should just stop investing in them.

Ok. So use your superior intellect and teach me what you know that I don't.

I literally said "NOBODY KNOWS" and then "I THINK".

I'm ready for class, let's go.

exactly. but also man of these things we consider shite coins are really serving markets we dont really get....like online gaming and other than rocket and a couple others, most of us dont really understand NFTs

want to be safe? invest in the different block chains & exchange coins and just leave it there. If you want to get wild, invest in Hex and pulse when it comes out.

BTC-30%
ETH-20%
BNB- 7.5%
Sol- 7.5%
Luna- 7.5%
Avax-7.5%
Dot-5%
Link-5%
ADA-5%
GRT-1%
KCS-1%
Atom-1%
Cro-1%
XRP-1% (even though it sucks lol)

Do the above and you are going to be pretty covered on picking very long term winners.

the guys like me who are saying buy this here and sell there......we are swing trading. can make huge gains doing that, but you can also get wrecked like a mother fricker too if you dont set your stop loss correctly and get greedy chasing money.

If this is really what you think then it’s probably best if you just stick to fiat and not get involved in crypto. You are going to miss out on the third wave of generational wealth creation behind the combustion engine and computer/internet, but plenty of people lost money in tech from lack of knowledge.

It's gambling. Plain and simple.

+1

But within that 1% are world changing protocols. I'm in the camp that a handful of protocols will absorb more and more of the world's economy. Starting with the digital economy and eventually the entire world economy.

That's why it's insane to ignore crypto.

Why would we use Bitcoin for this vs Ethereum?

Is it? Maybe, but if it's gambling, so is investing in money in anything. The vast majority of my portfolio is in what I believe to be world-changing technologies. I have a few things that are straight up gambles and I'm prepared to lose that money, but most of my positions are long term.

I wouldn’t consider it investing

At least in Pokémon cards you could play a game with them

thats why i dont get in on NFTs i dont understand that. but i also dont understand art in general.

like others said, there is some world altering tech out there and crypto in general is generational wealth building. period.

Thanks for this helpful advice
Did you not see my opening statement to start the thread? i'm willing to learn but to randomly throw money at something that people say is gonna takeoff and then give 300 different choices is a bit overwhelming dont you think? Was just looking for some guidance?
