i'm not taking any more dividends in the form of RDSA anymore. all cash now. That's why i bought RDSB originally. It wasn't my choice to get dividends reinvested in A.

Are y'all sticking with oil? I'm mostly back to even with my oil stocks. Thinking about moving it over to my total stock fund.

I'm up on COP, a little down on RDS. Once i hit my price points I will sell both and move monies into my monthly dividend paying stocks. I've been patient but it will still take awhile to get where I want. It will be a nice 5 digit profit so it is worth the wait. My Facebook has tripled.

I'm up a little on xom, a lot on cvx (long time hold) and rdsb (one of my few well timed purchases).

Still getting killed on cop and bp as i bought right before the oil crash.

Like others, I'm looking to dump cop and bp when I get close to even. Will definitely hold xom and cvx, not sure about shell.

Also lost my arse on some natural gas.

65,000 short contracts in WTI crude covered last week. About 65 million barrels, or roughly $3 billion. Probably will be layered multi year net longs showing up in this week's COT, or very soon.

Now this is institutional. It's pretty difficult to drill down into how much of this were actual hedgers (producers, etc.) versus banks and brokerage firms. But make no mistake, this is a huge short cover, and some propitiatory trading accounts took a hit which will show up in their next earnings reports.

And for the one guy on here that believes CVX will be reducing their dividend, I suspect that article (Barron's I believe had the "breaking news") is incorrect.

Huh, I am still not convinced we are done with low oil. Opec is a din of thieves, all your shale guys will ramp back up at the smallest price increase and you still have all the zombie company oil continued to be pumped.

I'm not either, but this will have an impact, probably already has, short term at a minimum.

Greenhead, If you're like me, you're hoping that there isn't another leg down. Deep water is suffering bad right now and we all know they are usually the last to go and the last to pick back up. And as for me and you, I hope it picks up and I'm able to switch jobs to something that I want to do and not just "waiting it out."

Yea, I actually quit big blue recently, them bastards had us at a 50-60% pay cut depending on the contract. Got the offer I had been waiting on and took it. Contracting for a mid major doing production in DW GOM, its not ideal but its a set schedule and secure until the market turns around. I am hoping they will pick me up but still actively searching.

To be honest I am thinking the land side might be the safer bet for the future. With operation cost coming down in a lot of the basins it could turn out to be the more stable of the two.

Luckly for us we haven't seen a pay cut (at least the engineers haven't), but we are super slow and a lot of time I just sit in the office doing nothing at all.. So I hope it picks up so I can move on to an operator and work a little more.

I must have you confused, I thought you were already with an operator. Which service company are you with if you dont mind me asking?

Thats great that they haven't cut your pay.

Still holding all of mine, only thing I have sold is my original investment on the ones I've doubled up on.
