I was on Binance, certainly wasn't US. I was able to sell off what I had on that into LINK/BTC and then send to Coinbase which is where everything is currently

They shut my account down for unknown reasons when I was in the middle of a 3100 link trade (half my stack at the time) that hit at a 1.62 so instead of having the 6200 links they nulled the trade and made me withdraw my US dollars. By the time I got my cash out of bank and was able to buy back link had shot to over 3 dollars and lost a ton buying back in.

It was impossible to get in touch with a human on the other line, it was complete bullshite and can happen to anyone.

I couldn’t get on another decent platform until binance US came out which has been great. All my coins are on a nano ledger now but I transfer back and forth with ease if I want to trade.

I feel your pain. I ended up losing a substantial amount of whatever I had at the time, but it was mostly my fault...i guess.

Quick history about my crytpo failures...

Started reading this thread or its predecessor back when ETH was taking off. I think I bought in back when it was around $100 or so (maybe less...can't remember). This was when it was really taking off to its first foray in the 300s.

I think I held 22 ETH units at the time. After a series of panic sells and then buys and then sells (etc) I ended up with only 11 lol. Then NEO came along and I decided to get in on that. At my peak, I had about $9500 USD in this thing and then NEO took off to the moon. My USD equivalent ended up reaching about $25000 and I was feeling pretty good about myself. I was worried that I would simultaneously miss out on the next ETH run and lose my arse if NEO dropped, so I sold a lot of NEO and put it in ETH. These were held on different exchanges for whatever reason (I think NEO could only be found on Bittrex or something at the time).

We were out and about one Saturday afternoon and I logged into Bittrex on my phone. Instead of typing in the website all the way and going directly to it, I allowed myself to fall into the trap of clicking on the link from a google search. I think this ended up being one of those fake sites because i entered my login info and voila...someone had my shite without me knowing it and they immediately withdrew all of my NEO lol.

I went from having about $20k USD in play to probably 1000-1500. Nothing could be done to recover that.

I attempted to build back up with a series of alt coin buys but never really amounted to anything. In comes LINK last year. Put whatever I had into LINK and have finally made it back to close to my original total USD amount. The real personal test will be whether I pull out at break even or if I ride the rocket ship with the rest of you baws. Haven't decided yet but am strongly considering taking this as a 4 year lesson learned and consider myself lucky. Not sure yet. lol
