And a price of $65, seems a lot cheaper than amazon had it at $99, seems suspect.

I;ve been making a little as well. I started with 13.5 ETH and moved to POLO. Have half in STR and half In XRP. I'm still trying to figure out the trading ranges and when to sell vs buy.

That's what I did.

Ah, of course, didn't even think of that. Addiction to Amazon is strong lol. $89 shipped from overseas.

New to all of this...so the little bit of ETH I bought on coinbase needs to be transferred to poloniex?

Why?

You transfer it to Polo if you want to play the game and buy/sell other cryptocurrencies.

But I'd hold off on doing that. Polo is fricked at the moment. Im trying to trade my btc for eth, but it's not letting me or anybody. I'm transferring my btc back to coinbase now.

I have no interest in buying or selling often. I bought 2 units of ETH just to hopefully make a buck or two if it ever blows up.

So I should just leave it in coinbase if that's my plan?

Yeah, I'd just leave them in Coinbase and keep an eye on them if I were you.

Did all cryptos tank today because of the bad press of the ransomware attacking Fed Ex?

That's what some of the Polo Trollbox chatter was speculating. I'm not sure what those guys know though. It seems to just be a lot of bullshite spewed in that Trollbox.

I'll look into getting my own wallet. Thanks for the info.

No worries. I understand this is the money board, so y'all view this as investment related vs technology... but that absolute reason bitcoin/cryptocurrency exists is to negate banks, to "decentralize" the system. Leaving your money at the exhange provides you 0 security and totally shits on the premise these things are found upon lol.

With that said, you will absolutely want a printed private key for any wallet, regardless of whether you use a ledger, trezor, the currency's actual wallet. Hardware/electrical errors can occur, and you're gonna want a back up to the back up.

It's great to see new people drawn into our world. I'll try to help with general questions and advice, but like the troll box... never listen to me on buying or selling. Be warned, when you start drifting away from coins outside of the top whatever in market cap, scams run rampant, as do pump and dumps. This is the wild west of economics, nothing to stop false news and taking your money.
