Post Earnings Buy

Posted this to address the question of how much NBIS will grow next year. The article makes two points that outline their goals.

First:
quote:

Nebius’ quarterly release and commitment to scaling capacity suggest it will achieve its target of 100 megawatts of online capacity by the end of 2025, said D.A. Davidson analyst Alex Platt in a research note today.
.

So the goal for this year is 100 MW

Second:
quote:

the Amsterdam-headquartered firm plans on securing more than 1 gigawatt (GW) of power by the end of next year (2026), he added.

The goal for next year is 1000 MW.

To add more fuel to the fire,
quote:

Platt is also convinced that NBIS will now be able to achieve its longer-term target of 1 gigawatt much sooner than expected and “achieve mid-single-digit billions of revenue given the proper infrastructure and power is likely to already be in place.”

If true, the infrastructure will be in place to increase revenue by 10 fold by the end of next year, Hopefully the customers will be there.

You only trade the “coupon” (the contract) as it increases in price.

As a buyer, how can I buy this ‘coupon, from others so I get the discounted share price + the price of the coupon?

That sounds like the other end of the trade. That’s selling puts with cash to back them up. Cash secured put.

That’s one level up from going “long” calls or puts, which is simply buying the contract “coupon”.

IT and I have just been buying call contracts, which gives us the right, but not the obligation, to BUY 100 shares of NBIS at the date and strike price that we select. Thats why a $4 option costs $400 dollars, the 100 share multiple embedded in the contract.

But instead, we just sell the contracts as they increase in value. I for one, have no intention of exercising options (converting to shares).
Recent example: Buy 10 NBIS Calls for $3.85 on 7 August with a strike price of $75 and an expiration date of 9/19.

I sold them the following morning and received $5.10 per contract ($510) per contract.

I really need to put the time in and learn about options more and how to do them.

@bayoubengal - curious, why aren’t you interested in exercising any of your calls?

I’ve got some deep in the money calls that I’m considering exercising as part of a long term plan to add to my share count and partially soften the short cap gains tax.

It’s just a preference.
Don’t like tying up that much capital for so long.

The stock is so volatile that it’s advantageous to keep capital on the side and get in and out of options or shares on dips.
Oddly enough, I do most of that in my Roth. No taxes.

NBIS up to $70.50 and CRWV up to $135 in after hours trading this evening.

Going to bed and might be back at the bar tomorrow at 11:00am again if this shite holds. Got a boatload of calls right now in both.

LFG NBIS…and CRWV now.
Not worried about my NVDA or MRVL shares right now.

So when it’s showing an early pop like this morning, do you sell those options quickly or hold to see if there’s further upside over the coming days?

Depends. I’m going to hold my long term $70 Nov expiring for a long time, looking to make a shite ton there

$72 calls expiring this Friday will get sold after the initial spike at opening

$80 calls expiring 9/12 will likely get sold quickly too and will buy them back on midday pullback.

$135 CRWV calls will hold throughout the day into tomorrow. Not sure I will hold through earnings, I’m kinda nervous on those

Do you ever run into liquidity issues selling? Some of the gaps in the bid ask prices are pretty high. TIA.

Not really. I am on my trading site utilizing multiple windows to trade my options, so I can have different prices up at the same time and put in the trade right when I want. I usually get my trade done within a few seconds, as I put in my price and let the market reach my high side or low side of that particular trade (those prices are usually pretty close)

And people will often snipe prices too, so it's not like the standing bid/ask need to meet for it to transact. Often times I will offer slightly more than the existing bid when buying, and it will hit quickly. It's probably cost me money but talking small % over time

I am actually feeling like a $5 pop here early this morning, so might hang around to see if it gets up there.
