75% VTSAX
25% VWIGX

Every week. Rain or shine. I watch it for fun when it’s going up; I ignore it when it’s going down.

I’ll worry about what the market is doing in a couple of decades.

I agree. All this bullshite drama only allows the sheep to be fleeced more frequently. The same hedge funds that made millions the last few days on the way up, made millions today on the way down. It’s all rigged, and the dumbass sheep panic on que everytime! Tomorrow we may be up 1,000 on the DOW?

Market psychology is so fascinating to me. Where's the mental toughness to deal with an extreme bull run?

When the market absolutely PUMPS (ex. S&P 28% gain in '21), everyone sits there and is like "yes, this is completely warranted and expected for what should happen. I'm a genius."

But on the contrary move down (S&P -18% YTD), everyone freaks out and acts like the market is unfair.

Yeah, it sucks that long shares have lost value YTD, but the market can't go straight up and it also won't go straight down.

I've been heavy in O&G for a year. This has left me in a good spot, but now I'm contemplating selling off at some point to catch some s&p bargains. I don't like trying to "time" things, but.....

My application is in for commandant of FEMA Camp 13. Some guy named Klink is apparently my only competition. But if I get it, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of you, baby. I got you.

Yawnnnn, bought more today. All depends on how your holdings were/are positioned and how overweight you are to some sectors. Guess dem techie high "growth" stocks and cryptos ain't helping all da youngsters these days.... I just stay focused on how much income my holdings will throw off and I'm fricked on taxes for 2022 anyway. I still remember that dot com bullshite I totally side-stepped in 2000 and was down total of less than 13% in 2008, that one was easy to see coming, too.

I would be in the California FEMA camp. I shudder to think what I'll have to endure out here.

I’m close to putting $10K on TQQQ to hold for the next decade plus. Small enough amount that it could go to $0 and it’s not the end of the world but the upside is getting super appealing with how much tech has been slaughtered.

Isn’t that like the exact opposite of what leveraged funds are for? Mega long term holding? Do I have this wrong ?

There’s a bunch of competing POVs on it. Time decay is the watch out.

A leveraged fund is just a way of trying to juice returns and it will have significant volatility.

I went through this in 2008-2009,kept my 15% going in my 403-B throughout. It was gut-wrenching at times ,to be sure.A lot of friends and a relative got out of their 401-K’s,took the loss and paid penalties for early withdrawal.
It paid off well for me to persevere.
Retired now but have enough cash to ride out 3-4 years plus small pension and SS.
House paid off.
The market has always had severe drops but always has come back.Likely will do it again but if it doesn’t we’re all fricked and it won’t matter.

Warren Buffett always said be fearful when others are greedy and be greedy when others are fearful.Maybe not his exact words but something like that.

It feel bad for those close to retirement, especially if they still have a mortgage.

This 100%. Add in all the Analyst these funds have in their pocket to upgrade and downgrade a stock for no apparent reason. Yet we are told their are regulations in place> yeah right

Moved the 401K to bonds a while back. Missed some gains for sure, but I’ve also missed this. I had expected a pullback to Dow 30K. It may be worse than that when/if Biden dies or China invades Taiwan.

I have an IRA that’s still invested in mostly long shots. My gambling account. It’s getting crushed.

If you invested in Growth/speculative Companies in the last year and didnt get in really early or cut your loses you are in a world of hurt right now.
