Hello, I am taking ACC701 (AP1) with Fabio Ambrosis and FIN701(AP2) with Kendall. Any feedback of professor, their exam and tips would be very helpful. I am most of the time on road for work and hoping it should be fine.

I've enrolled and start 9/2. I have a feeling I'm in for a painful next 12 to 18 months.

Hey everyone, I'm starting the program this fall and I'm trying to plan out my schedule for when I want to take every class. My wife is pregnant and due to give birth during the spring 2020 semester (early in AP2). What would be the best (lightest workload and not many set deadlines during the week) class to take during that session that she is due to give birth? Thanks!

Hi Doug, ISDS 702 & ISDS 705 are one of the lightest loads on the program based on consensus. ISDS 702 with Koksal is pretty straight forward as well as Gibbs in ISDS 705.

Thanks! I know that people say that these classes should be taken before certain others. What should I wait to take until I've taken ISDS 702 and 705?

Anyone else sweating Yin’s final a bit? It’s worth a baggillion points

Your A strategy tips for the class and description of the exams are spot on. I'm in my last week and experienced exactly as you described on the exams. Studied 10 hrs per for the last 4 and got a 95, 70, 90, 80. Have no idea which questions I missed, especially on the last two where I missed two per (last exam was only 10 questions).
Other than that, the grading has been fair on the assignments, just need to follow the rubric as you said.
Would take her again due to the workload being manageable, but am still dissappointed in my exam performances. Having said that, I draw the line at 10hrs for study time.

They are independent of one another and neither will help the other.

Avoid Lind for ISDS705 if possible.

Yep.. Especially considering her trick questions. I still can't figure out how I did so poor on Module 5 (inventory & cost of goods sold). I understood the material. I asked for an explanation and she replied "you missed 4 questions." So yea the final will be brutal I think .

Hi All, I just got accepted into the online MBA program :) & I just registered for my classes.

In the 1st session of Summer, I am taking:
ACCT 701 - with Yin,Yuan
AND MADM 760 - with Kim,Minsun

In summer session 2, I am taking:
Fin 701 - with Choi, Daewong(Joey)
AND ISDS 705 - with Lin, Binshan

For those of you who have taken these classes recently with these professors, would it be okay doubling this up like I am planning to do? I have done some research through this forum but I just wanted to ask just in case I may have missed something.

Thank you! :)

I just wanted to provide an update on the above classes as I just completed them this past summer semester. I was able to complete all of these courses while working full time & I NEVER felt like I wanted to pull all of my hair out, once LOL. They were very manageable for me to complete each week & I personally never felt like the load was unreasonable for me. Mind you, I am a organized person who likes to complete her work early on to get it out of the way. In my 1st 2 courses that I took together, I earned A's in both. In my last 2 this summer, I earned an A & a B. I truly feel like it was not a very heavy load for me at all. Just know that there is some kind of writing each & every week (besides ISDS 705 with Lin that only consists of 3 exams). I personally do not mind writing & the assignments were not hard in my opinion but you do have to do research & use your brain :)
I will continue to double up for my next 2 semesters so I can graduate next May :)

Hey everyone - I'm looking into options for an MBA as my company reimburses ~$6k per year and I knew this thread existed so I came here first. I'm in the preliminary stages of looking at my options. I am not 100% sure if an MBA is the route I should be going.

What all do most people specialize in at LSUS? And what industry do you all work in?

I am currently in the construction industry so I am looking to focus on Project Management.

I would go finance and get PMP certification. If you are in the construction industry, work for a respectable company, and you are successful currently then that should be enough for career advancement and an online MBA in PM would be pointless imo.

I suggest finance only for the fact that if you ever shift from construction to lets say real estate and/or development it will provide you with an actual understanding of the basics to succeed in that industry.

I do not have an MBA, but recently made the shift from the construction industry to commercial real-estate and development. I'm required to know a lot about the financial aspect of the deals and honestly I feel left behind by other who are more knowledgeable on the finance side but may struggle on the PM side.

Good luck with your decision and think outside of the construction box, you never know where you may actual end up.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am really interested in the finance side of things so I am glad you suggested that.

The PMP is the hardest test I've taken since the SAT/ACT. I took a PMP prep class on Udemy (the most popular one), and it helped me understand exactly *how* to read the PMBOK. So, after going through the videos (at 2x speed because the guy spoke REALLY slowly), I then went through the PMBOK front to back. I took 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete the test, but I passed with flying colors. I, like you, have taken lots of certification exams successfully with little to no preparation, but this is absolutely not one of those tests. The questions are extremely situational, such as "X, Y and Z has taken place. What is the next step you need to take in the project?" Two of the answers are easily seen as wrong, but the other two are both seemingly correct, where one is THE next step and the other is the step after next.

I just started this session, and it's not so bad. I took two classes this time, but am cutting it back to just one class per session from here on out. I own my own company and travel to different customer sites each week. There appear to be a handful of professor/class combinations that can cause you to spend up to 30+ hours per week, but most of them don't take that much time. However, my plan is to expect some pain and to enjoy those sessions where I have a light load in my one class.[quote]I've enrolled and start 9/2. We'll see. I haven't done any coursework in 12 years. I work full time in the healthcare field. It hasn't been said to me, but I know I've been passed over for better positions due to not having a Master's degree. An MBA instead of a MHA makes sense for me because I want a future that is not strictly tied to healthcare administration.

Nice. Any more info on Kim? Haven't seen much about him on here. Any group work? Weekly exams and discussion boards? Still debating which instructor to try to take for MADM

All,

I just found out that some new electives are being offered starting in the fall, such as BADM 790 (DV) - Data Visualization. There's a new course rotation schedule also, available here:
