**Paul Allen***

What has been your experience with the amount and cost of required text books and materials?

Most expensive text was around $130. Everything else has been less than $70.

Paul Allen, in regards to Meeks for 760, how strict was he on grading for the team assignments? Are the weekly skill builders always 6 questions or does it vary? Good bit of work but it'll be alright, just keeps you busy

Very lax when it comes to grading. I literally made a 100% in his class. just a bunch of busy work. And yes, there's always 6 questions.

Haha good I'm glad it's lax! Just trying to stay ahead as best I can. The 7 weeks for this class seem like it'll fly by.

Look at Louisiana Tech Executive MBA. The classes are great and you will not be overly stressed due to having to do tons of work that is unnecessary. Some classes at LSU are just too much.
Econ., IDS and MKT case load of work will be the downfall of this program.

My status changed today on my login site of LSUS. I attempted to register for a class but it is saying that I have to take BADM 701. I made C's or better in all my undergrad business degree of finance classes from and AACSB accredited college. Could this be an error in the system or could they truly be requiring me to take a prerequisite? If they are requiring it, is there an appeal process. Just would not make any sense to me whatsoever.

The "appeal" process would be to email the dean of the program and go from there. Unfortunately, it sounds like you're going to have to take the course. Best of luck.

Yeah just do as suggested and email the department head. I had the same issue every semester for some reason. He will remove the hold and you can register without taking that class.

Does this program say you earned an MBA at LSUS or just LSU?

Thank you for the info. The process was not fully complete and now it is. They have it straightened out and I do not have to take the courses, so I am starting this journey in October with my first course being ECON 705 with Shaugnesey (not sure on his spelling!). Excited but not excited all at the same time!

I was wondering if you had a minute to give me some advice in laying out a schedule. For aid/gi bill $ purposes, have to be 3/4s time, so one period will do one class, then the other period in the semester will do two.
Below is what I had been tentatively thinking but basically am asking which classes do you absolutely need to take on their own? Working full-time and hoping to maintain a marriage & social life...
Undergrad degree is Business/Econ but haven't been in school for 10/11 years

spring 17: acct701 ; fin710 and madm701
sum 17: mkt 701
fall 17: isds702; madm720 and econ 705

spring 18: madm760 ; whatever two spec classes (hadnt decided which route yet-leaning towards gen so I could go madm 751 and madm 710 both)

Glad to hear and you're more than welcome. Don't be surprised if you run into the problem again when you want to register next semester. I hit it a few times because I had like 30 hours of undergrad business classes and didn't need the prereq's, but no business degree so it wouldn't let me slide without approval.

3 classes per session to me is inconceivable. 2 is rather tough, but not insurmountable. I would not pair anything win mkt 701 or MADM 720. I did Econ 705 and acct 701 together which wasn't too rough.

Paul,

I'm working on my case study for MKT701 right now.

Wow, it's a lot of work. So grateful I took this class by itself. Other students have told me other classes not as much busy work as this one. I'm glad I'm doing out now and getting it behind me.

The other ones with busy work would be MADM 720 and MADM 751
