Well the company is backed by Peter Thiel and was probably just running on IPO hype for a couple days. It's coming back down to reality.
They aren't actually mass producing any products right now. None of these companies are, at least for solid state LiDAR. For 2019 Luminar had revenue of $12.6 million and a net loss of $94.7 million.
These companies are still several years away from legit revenues.

Not convinced MVIS is truly in buyout negotiations. CEO said the company is for sale and that some players were doing their own DD. Haven't heard of an actual offer which would then lead to negotiations. However I'm hoping for the best since I've been sitting on 2k shares with a $1.05 avg.

Lazr was a bad bet for me lol

It feels like this will all start with a strategic investor/minority stake, maybe in the next 60-90 days, especially with the way LiDAR is being hyped right now. I could see Ford maybe jumping in here to snag a piece to go along with their VLDR stake.
Also note that the 9 year monthly resistance trendline was broken last month. I'm fully expecting this to retest $3.45 in the very near future.
If someone does seriously want to buy the entire company, I don't see Microvision letting it go for anything less than $1b or about $7/share. There is simply too much potential with their tech/IP.
Good luck!

INNOVIZ CEO, Omar Keilaf, is on CNBC right now talking about his company’s prospects and the future of this sector.

Where did you buy in?
I’m sitting on 12/18 30 strike short puts. Pretty dramatic downdraft this week.

People taking gains.
I've got a couple of thousand shares and paid $18.51.
QS got in at about $15.
Both of these were up HUGE, but have pulled back. I think LAZR is the technology of the future, not simply one of makers, but rather the system that will be in MOST cars. This is a long play for me.
LCA is another one we own, meeting on the 18th, thinking this will be bigger than DKNG.

Shares drop more than 17% for fifth consecutive decline after hot start on the public markets
Luminar Technologies Inc. stock dropped more than 17% on Tuesday, extending its losing streak to a fifth consecutive session, as word that Mobileye plans to make its own lidar sensors reached investors.

I got in at 2.69 after your initial post. Today was a damn fine day! You the man!

stay away from MVIS...just search this board....same song and dance for 2 decades...meanwhile bagholders have been diluted to sh*t...

I would agree with you if they hadn't announced they were looking to sell the company. But they are, and the tech/IP can't be denied. The LiDAR sector is simply too hot right now and will play a huge roll in EV market.
Mobileye news (bad for LAZR)
This is now all about who can make the smallest, cheapest, best performing sensor. MVIS' IP/tech is a legit contender and it's still being underpriced based on LAZR, VLDR, CGRO, and IPV valuations.
MVIS Press Release
And can we talk about the monthly chart!? It broke a 9 year resistance trend last month! Sure, it might retrace at this 4.20 level, but if the volume keeps coming or they drop news, then it has a chance to go rocket mode.

Yes the Lidar market is hot and MVIS has legit tech hopefully its not just another pump. depending on when you got in I think its worth the risk. If any decent PR drops or more FORD rumors circular this thing will jump another 30-50%. I sold enough shares yesterday at $4.22 to cover my initial investment but I bought in at $1.06

I’ve been in and out of MVIS over the years but I still have a decent core just under $2. I don’t plan on selling any shares again until this clears $5.
I am now looking to build a bigger position in IPV/AEVA though.

The bleeding and beating of LAZR finally let up today.
