Damn, they actually might have sold the company already. This can't just be a pump on Apple Car news.

That’s what I am trying to figure out
Posted on 12/22/20 at 2:21 pm to ATLsuTiger
What does that mean for us if it already sold guys?

The theory is that the company that ends up buying will be the one playing a part in making the share price rise(what we are seeing now) to a level where a normal buyout multiple is palatable for their shareholders.
I'm assuming no more than a 2x from the current market cap. So we are looking at about a $2.5b buyout as of now. Obviously the price could continue rising to whatever pps the bidder needs it to be in order for it to not look ridiculous to their shareholders.
The other theory is that a company like Google makes an investment at a certain valuation(say $2.5B)...and that news leak is causing this rise in pps.
I'm assuming we see no less than $17/share when all is said and done here.

Awesome. Thank you for that info. I’m obviously green.

MVIS - MicroVision I think this is the best short term play because they are 7 months into buyout negotiations and claim to have LiDAR tech that will best everyone. Mass production-ready sample set to be released in 4 months. They also recently added a new board of directors member with previous ties to Ford.
MVIS was on my WATCHLIST - after reading your post, I went ahead and bought. Thanks! Still holding, bought @ $3 added additional over the last 2 days. I have a nice position 1/2 the current price. Personally I am not dreaming of a Apple Buy-Out, I feel MVIS is worth more - PT $30+

Very nice!
I finally caved and sold about 5% of my MVIS shares yesterday around $9.20 to secure some profit.
Might end up regretting it later today but there are just too many shorts swarming for my liking. Plus, I don't think a retrace would be a bad thing here.
I'm curious to see if the shorts can manage to take this back down to fill the gap around 5.80.

Whats up with LAZR today?

Risky play. No support in sight for mvis

Hindenburg Research is attacking MVIS. It's hilarious and totally wrong, but most people won't put the effort in to doing their own DD on MVIS so yeah, this could pullback even further from here. The Street was running with it too and Cramer tweeted about MVIS last night.

I will be looking to rebuy around 5.80 if it wants to fill this gap. But the green lines are previous long term resistance levels that might get tested.

Most LiDAR stocks are cooling off today after that Apple car news pump. Cramer opened his show yesterday by bringing all these stocks back down to earth a bit.
CGRO still running though. I think they are working with BMW.

Should one sell now and rebuy later or just hold after this drop?
Posted on 12/24/20 at 8:45 am to TankBoys32
My plan: Buy low. Sell (some) high. Rinse and repeat.
Posted on 12/24/20 at 9:34 am to ATLsuTiger
I bought back in at $7. Regretting it early. Maybe I should have listened to the guy saying a fair price was 4.50.

As of today, I’ve reduced my LAZR position by about half (plus covered calls). Now looking hard at CGRO. I also just read about a partnership connection with Magna and Aptiv once the merger with Innoviz is complete. I think that’s where the relationship with BMW also comes into play.
Again, thanks for bringing this sector to our attention. And a Merry Christmas to you.

Apple Veterans’ Lidar Startup Adds $200 Million to SPAC Deal

Aeva, a laser-sensor startup founded by two ex-Apple Inc. engineers, is poised to increase its war chest by $200 million with an investment by a Hong Kong-based hedge fund ahead of its public listing via a reverse merger.
The funding from Sylebra Capital Management is expected to boost the total proceeds from its planned deal with InterPrivate Acquisition Corp. to $563 million, an Aeva executive said. Investor interest in Aeva is part of a wave of financing deals targeting next-generation auto-related companies focused on fields such as battery-electric and driverless technology.
