Jobs report good signals no need to cut or hold rates and inflation headed up so raise rates

Good jobs numbers means no rate cuts.

No rate cuts means money more expansive to borrow for Cap x

With no interest rate cuts on the horizon, tech becomes less attractive to investors because it’s more expensive to borrow money.

Some of those are selling some tech and rotating into other sectors.

Also, some are selling in preparation for the Space X IPO to have now money to buy on 6/12

Agreed.

Wait 6months to a year and let the lock up periods expire.

Get space x stock at 1/2 the IPO price - then set it and forget it for your kids and grandkids.

That’s my play.

To be honest, I have 100 K saved for when Anthropic goes ipo. That company changed the white collar work.

Why the sell off? Because the jobs report was good, that’s why.

The sell off started yesterday. This looks like momentum trading.

You are legit scared of your own shadow when you get 10% gains, and you want us to believe you are going to drop $100,000 on one company.

The problem is their product becomes a commodity a few months after they release it. The AI lab companies will have to pivot. I’m not saying they won’t do exactly that and be wildly successful. But there will have to be vision.

I was very happy to hear this. Quality metrics, not pure size, should be a large factor, if not the largest, for entry.

The cost of infra required will limit competition. Also if something becomes a commodity, then it will generate massive money

Go look at a daily chart of the Nasdaq with a 50/100/200 SMA. The downside of a market that has gone straight up is that there is no meaningful support when a sell off occurs. The markets were extremely stretched and now the bears have a huge air pocket to sell into

I won’t even try to explain it. I’ve seen bad job reports, and the market plummets. Then there are days I read depressing economic news and think the market is going to take a hit but it spikes 4%. I feel dumb but I’ll take that 4%.
