I've never been as proud as myself financially as I am right now.

2022 ROI: 0.19%

They say it couldn't be done.

I'll be uploading my masterclass soon.

I quit investing in ETFs/Mutual Funds months ago and bet the return on individual stocks:

TSLA, DOW, KO, AMZN, DIS, UNH, BLK and some others.

I figured their upside would be alot better over the next 2 years then whatever mutual crap was out there.

We’re you mostly in cash during the year? Of those stocks you listed only 2 are positive and half are down 25% or more YTD. I’m intrigued

Took everything out of the market Jan. Filtered things back in to stocks and with new contributions. Tried to find some bottoms. Some I did. Some I didn't.

Wut?

You are bragging about earning less than 1%.

If you earned 19%, then it is stated as 19%. . .don't mix your decimals and %s unless you mean it.

But, then again, any return on the positive side in this shite economic climate is something to be proud of, I suppose.

That's like 30% alpha if it's a portfolio of 100% equities

Yes. You're exactly correct. I am out here bragging about .19%.

Don't be dense. It's being humorous.

My vanguard IRA Is down 21% luckily I am young and have time to recover. It’s sickening to think about those a little closer to retirement.

Figure i have 20 years for them to recover. My 401k is down like 14% so i guess i'm better than the pros

Why not invest in the negative side of the trade? Nothing is predictable, but if you get into recession investing you'll be golden. It might make you throw-up though.

Is it though? The S&P (at the moment) is at April 2021 or so levels. That's after a decade long bull run. If they were relying on that delta that seems suspect.

Maybe I'm reading into it wrong. Just seems like this would have to go on quite a bit longer with inflation to really be sickening. Hopefully it doesn't.
