Is their still value in Apple, Amazon and Tesla?

I’m going to invest soon. Something small that I want to let sit for a few years
I only have 10-15k to invest so what about these brands that you know aren’t going out of business but are trading very high
Is their value? I’d like to just invest 15k evenly between the 3 and sit on it.

No, all 3 stocks are worthless with no value, and the companies are garbage

i think what he's asking is is there still valuable growth with these companies or have they pretty much topped out.
if i had to guess, tesla is still in it's infancy stage. not sure about apple or amazon.

I've been debating on dumping $10k into either AAPL or TSLA for a few weeks. AAPL hasn't moved a bit and part of me thinks TSLA might be at a high as many tech stocks are overvalued right now. I just worry about what is in store for us in Q4 this year when all the forbearance stuff comes home to roost and inflation etc.

Me too. Elon is hosting SNL Saturday so maybe it will flop

I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon has a stock split soon as it will really help the stock. Something about paying $500 a share vs $3500 a share really makes a difference in the mind of the average retail investor. Not to mention they just had great first quarter earnings.

Stupid question but does that mean to buy now or wait until it splits

I would buy now if you think there will be a split. Look at Apple and Tesla to see recent examples of how the stocks performed before and after the splits.

Amazon split is probably not a sure thing, all this speculation since Bezos stepped down. He was definitely against a split and is still the largest shareholder.

$10-$15k, did you already spend the rest of the $100k from your FIL?
All kidding aside, unless you know what you're doing you won't likely beat the market. Just buy an ETF total stock market (VTI), S&P 500 (VOO) or Growth Index (VUG) which is somewhat more weighted in the stocks you named. If you don't already have Roth IRAs this is a good time to start one for you and one for wife ($6k each) assuming you qualify.
If you're already diversified, have Roth IRAs, and just want to try to pick a few winners with a small portion of your holding have at it and ignore the above.

frick Apple. Their shite has been either dropping or steady after two huge reports in a row. I just don't get why the stock isn't going up after so much good news. It has to just be completely maxed out right now. I fear a big fall in the next 12 months. I want to be in it long term but I'm only human and am getting nervous.

This. Will be a bumpy ride, but Elon is the only one of the centi-billionaire bunch that is truly a genius. The future belongs to Musk and Tesla. I was a skeptic for years, but the more I learn about him and see his vision, ability to execute and balls to invest his money in his dreams, the more I believe. Sky isn't the limit for him. To the stars and beyond!! Zip2, Paypal, Tesla, The Boring company, Neuralink, SpaceX. Brother into organic greenhouse, hydroponic agriculture for fresh produce in urban locals. All building towards him colonizing moon and Mars. Earth as well. Bet your arse he'll have deep sea colonies. He ain't building subs for no reason. Sumbitch probably already has one just off the coast of Antarctica to keep an eye on all those global elites that despise him.
If I'm betting on Mush against Bezos, Gates, Apple, etc. Musk all day every day. My dad was a huge horseracing fanatic, and the best handicapper I've ever seen. You always bet the best horse in the race even if the experts and odds don't seem to agree. That's how you win.

You have to think AAPL will keep coming out with new products over the coming years. It isn't likely to have the future of TSLA or AMZN but it is a stable stock.
Posted on 5/3/21 at 9:19 am to dallastiger55
I about as big an AMZN fan as you’ll find. Not many high quality companies you can still get your hands on for the same price they traded at in August 2020.

This market is volatile and irrational. I mean look at GME.

I agree with your assessment of Musk, but all those other companies are not Tesla. However I’m very bullish long term on Tesla and think we will look back 10 years and wish we had bought more at this price.

I wouldnt associate the term 'value' with TSLA trading at 698 P/E. Hopefully it remains a good growth play though since I now own a bit via S&P 500 and other index funds.

Stupid Q but would you buy before or after Elon hosting SNL this week?

I don't think that event will move the needle much with Tesla either way but listening to investing advice from me is like asking an anorexic person what their favorite cookbook is.
