Why not buy a newer and less used Toyota that will be more reliable and cheaper?

My favorite vehicles are one owner 5+ year old Toyotas with under 100K miles.

I do appreciate the advice.

However, I'm not gonna buy a passat, or a golf, or an old camry, or any of the other gay vehicle reccomendations that have been given. (Not all of the reccomendations sucked, but those do.). I would rather keep driving my 20 yo maxima rather than spend a dime on those.

Are you putting anything down on this vehicle?

I bought a $28k truck when I was only making like $40k, but I put $18k down on it...

this also depends on your other expenses

Alright dude if you're gunna be a 50k millionare...

Why don't you just lease a brand new car rather than have a busted arse audi that will be 7 years old before you know it with little or no re-sale value?

If you could read, you'd know that the golf suggestion was posted by a woman. One who is probably more comfortable driving that make/model.

As to the rest of your post, most of these have been telling you-in a nice, kind, roundabout way-that you're showing a bit of immaturity and impulsiveness with your purchase.

Several folks have talked about how the price isn't bad, but the fact that:

1.) Audi's have really high cost of maintenance.
2.) Audi's typically uptick after the 4th year in terms of issues that need to be fixed by mechanics.
3.) Mechanics for Audi's that do quality work are very hard to find.
4.) Tires for Audi's can run over $1,000 for a set.
5.) The Audi you want to buy is not only 5 years old, but you admit it has a major problem that plagues many Audi's already and is being "fixed".

But the most telling part of your post that gives insight into your youth and-just being honest, here-your foolishness, is this:

quote:

, or any of the other gay vehicle reccomendations that have been given

Posting like this makes you sound like a twerp who wants a status symbol. Simply telling people-who are giving you frank and honest advice and suggestions-that you wouldn't prefer those makes is enough.

Be that as it may, it appears to me that you'll soon be parting with way more money than you need to. Do you know the types of people that are soon parted from their money? I'm sure you do...

They're called Fools.

I honestly am thinking about selling my 1 yr old truck and buying a Nissan Versa Only 13k brand new and they last for about 200k miles and get unreal gas mileage. I would basically drive for free for 8-10 years

It all depends on how much you can put down, but I wouldn't do it either way. If you're not planning on putting much down and financing it for 5 years or whatever is typical, you'll be paying a couple hundred bucks a month for an 8 year old car with 100k miles on it..

ETA: Also you said you won't drive an old camry? You can get a new camry for 24k.. Then in 10 years when you're making more money or have more money saved you can buy a nicer car to accompany your still very solid, well running Camry.

He said very clearly that driving anything other than the Audi would make him gay. Definitely worth over extending for a used European car with mechanical problems so you don't catch the gay...

I mean...you know what the answer is on this board.

But go do it if you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. You won't go broke buying the car if that is what you are asking.

That's my biggest question. You can find 2010 S4's all day long for $28k with the same mileage. At least with that you've got a badass little car. Not some 2.0T slowpoke.

Clearly, the stakes are much higher. Could catch the ghey from mass-produced economy car.

Must have caught that on last Sunday's 60 minutes. It was a good one.

This should be the only answer in threads like these.

Not really. His question was purely a financial one. As in, do the numbers make sense.

Ignorant post is ignorant. Nothing about the A5 is based on a VW.
