yep it was the F150. When I said something about it he said well you could just start being a smoker. I said my father in law died of lung cancer from smoking so I don't think I will do that. It wiped the smirk off his face.

Yea, I'd never go back to that dealership again.

I got kicked out of a store in Florence for haggling too much. I didn't even know that was possible. I am pretty tight with the $

Try selling the car to a private buyer then go back to a different dealership and see what they can do.

Right, which is why it's best to sell privately, then use that money towards the purchase of the new car, imo.

most people don't have an understanding of what that BB price represents. It's not meant to value your car at the time of trade in. It is what cars similar to yours bring in wholesale auctions, which is where a 2006 expedition goes when sold as a trade in. They're never going to give you BB value and to expect them to is fairly naive. If it is worth a couple grand to sell it yourself then that is what you should do.

I would rather get a tooth pulled than go to a dealer to buy a car.

. I havent had to worry about negotiating because we have the x plan so the price they give you is the best price you're gonna get.

So how much do you think you can mark off more than the x plan? I am interested because last year I priced out a new f250 msrp of 52000 x plan price was just over 46000 and then got 4000 off that with incentives. Are you saying you could get more off by just haggling?

Thanx Will

No what I am saying is that by having the X plan you are not guaranteed the lowest price and to think you are is just not right. As for your deal, nothing special, you got 10% off the bullshite sticker, could I have done better, I have no idea and don't feel like researching a price for something I am not interested in, however if you are happy with your deal that is all that matters. But to say the X plan is as good as it gets is just wrong

Ok, I see what you are saying but also it does give a very good price without having to haggle at all. So that does lessen the pain of car shopping, right? Is it worth haggling an extra hour or two for an extra thousand dollars off? I don't know.

Unless you have something else to do that pays $1,000 an hour I'd say its definitely worth it.

I've spent an hour haggling over 25% off a shirt and 2 pairs of slacks
