28 yr old male. Never been in an accident or missed any payments on anything. Great credit score. Drive an 04 Avalanche with about 180k miles on it. Probably worth $5-$6k.

Coverage:
Injury/property 50-100-50
Uninsured motorist 50-100
Collision with 1k deductible

Paid $1125/year two years ago and $1175 this year. Policy is increasing to $1243/year next year. Starting to think I should look around with the large increases lately.. TIA.

ETA: live in Baton Rouge

Would shop, regardless. Never hurts to keep your insurance honest.

Can't answer that but I shop my house and auto, now. My renewals are coming due and want good value, as do you, for our dollars.

North Texas, two vehicles, AARP ages

Definitely shop around. Your premium should be going down at your age (getting closer to 30) and the age/value of your vehicle.

Do you have a good agent? Do you trust him? Have you good experiences with the agent and the company?

If yes, pay the extra $10 per month. You're getting a fair rate.

Seems to be a bit much because I am the same age as you and have the same coverage. For sure shop around for quotes

No one in this thread has said where they live. That makes a big difference.

I get line item discounts b/c I have my house w/ State Farm and a small term life policy - 33M, other driver is 33F, no wrecks within a decade (except wife backing her vehicle into a pole).

2015 Toyota Sienna and 2007 Toyota Tacoma. I don't know the # off the top of my head, but we pay less than $1.5k/year total and we are 50-100-50 with a $500 ded w/ UM/UIM coverage. Louisiana.

why dont you just get liability, im sure the car is paid off right? Do you really worry about getting the full 5k in value if you get in a crash or can you just buy another?

You know who has the cheapest insurance? People who stick with one company for 15+ years.

Yes to all of that.. independent agent. That's kind of the reason I've never really shopped before. Just starting to feel like I'm paying too much.

Yea. This would save about $300/year. Might be the route to go.

Not true. My brother had Allstate from 18 years. Kept going up. Switched to Geico and saved $400 over 6 months. Insurance companies believe the longer a person is a policy holder the less likely they will leave so they tend to raise rates in small amounts every time they renew their policy. Its getting shafted but slowly instead of fast. Insurance companies take policy holders for granted.

Where you live, (City & State), Vehicle safety ratings, and you credit score are three of the main factors in your premiums.
