re: BREC Golf - igotit
They don’t have to break even at any of the courses based on their day to day revenue. OUR property taxes offset BRECs cost. They have no problem using that money to maintain the BREC parks across the parish that bring in NO money. They need to allocate more to the golf courses that actually b...

re: BREC Golf - igotit
I agree that Carter is excellent. But why should someone who lives in the middle of Baton Rouge have to travel 45 minutes? Webb Park is in the middle of our city and is deplorable. What is the reasoning for the condition of the greens. And this is not exclusive to this year. The course is not...

BREC Golf - igotit
What’s the problem with BREC? I understand that the majority of the courses lose money. But that doesn’t factor in our property taxes offsetting this. Why must we settle with subpar conditions year in and year out? Shouldn’t at least Webb, Santa Maria, & Beaver Creek be in acceptable shape?? ...

re: Golf Greens in and around the Baton Rouge area - igotit
Greystone gets close to the same amount of play and also has dealt with the flooding issues and it's in great shape. The condition issues with the BREC courses are a reflection of the leadership at BREC. It starts at the top....and they are lacking. It's gotten progressively worse over the la...

re: Golf Greens in and around the Baton Rouge area - igotit
Couldn't agree more. Fennwood's greens are as good as anywhere around. Beaver Creeks greens are not good, contrary to other reports. Too much Poa Annua all over the greens. They have a ways to go. The rest of the course is good though. ...

re: Private Flood Insurance--Louisiana - igotit
There is 100% a private flood market that will write properties in an AE zone. As mentioned there are some areas that they won't write in. But, prior to the flood, they were writing in EBR, Livingston, Ascension, etc. The program is underwritten through two different companies--- Lloyds and L...

I enjoy it very much. Very clean place. Very friendly service. And good food. Would be better suited for different areas of town that are more conducive to a drive through eatery. I could also see this doing well in Central, DS, Zachary, etc. ...

re: Home Value After Flood - igotit
You would pay 50 to 100k more for a non flood home? So a house that got a foot of water--- that now is completely rebuilt on the interior--- has that much less value? New Sheetrock, new cabinets, new paint, new appliances, Etc. We aren't talking about homes that have flooded over and over. Ma...
