I am with USAA and I am paying $158 a month, $944 every 6 months for two 2016 vehicles (truck and crossover). I have a 200 Comprehensive and 500 Collision Deductible.

I am trying to figure out if I should shop around or not. Is $944 high, normal, or low?

We have USAA we pay 1200 every 6 months for a 2015 car and a 2012 crossover with 1k deductibles. So I'm jealous.

I droppped USAA earlier this year. I ended up going with Met Life. I increased coverage and saved money.
I pay $178 a month for $250/$500, $500 comprehensive and collision deductible. That includes rental car and Towing & Labor. I save about $570 a year now. That's for my wife's 2014 Infiniti and my 2007 4Runner.

830/6 months. Been 16 years since I made a claim. Safe to say the insurance is ahead.

I dont know who your carrier is but I was with all state for a long time and recently when I leased my cadillac the dealer set me up with this mapfre insurance and All state wanted $960 every 6 months and I got mapfre for $780 every 6 months for the same coverage, whatever the bare minimum was for a leased vehicle.

Some really low rates. What am I doing wrong? Is it worth it to start looking at other companies?

I'm currently shopping. Mine renews in about 2 weeks and the new allstate quote I received was $1250, so $208/mo. My problem is, I have received lesser quotes from others, but if I leave allstate for my auto, then I lose the rebate on my home insurance by having both. So I either need to shop around both or just suck it up and stay where I am.

This thread makes me feel bad.

I'm like $330/mo, 2 vehicles (2015/2008), full coverage, 300/500/300, $500 deductible.

Doesn't sound like many of y'all are that far off in coverage but paying much less.

You have to factor in the dividend check that USAA sends out yearly for being a policy member.

USAA is a participating insurance company. They offer more conservative/expensive rates to better guarantee profit then they share that profit with policy holders.

I went from over $800 or $135 a month to $75 a month with USAA just moving the policy from LA to TX. 2012 Hyudai Santa Fe. I always felt like my policy was high, and my driving record is great (no tickets in 10 years and I'm 30).

I always knew this to be true but to actually do it is amazing. I kept usaa because my home policy was with them. May drop them now as my wife has Geico and that fell from $350 to $200 with the move for 6 months and we're selling our house.
