He better get this shitshow under control within 6-12 months, otherwise the democrats are going to have a fricking field day during the midterm elections. And they will win in a landslide because they are impeccably effective at messaging.

He will.

THIS.

And there goes any chance at all for a balanced budget in any of our lifetimes.

So if you disagree with anything Trump is doing/has done, you are an undercover liberal pretending to have voted for him? What a tard you are.

Because it is a pretty great example of the power of media driven hysteria and its role in public perception
You mean like how one side had you believe the economy was in shambles and people couldn't afford anything? Fast forward 6 months later and it is even worse under the guy they said would fix it.

Let's get real. The trajectory of the economy was going up. All he had to do was stay out of the way. Instead because of his narcissistic personality, he has to come up with some grand plan to stamp his legacy.

Focus on border patrol without snatching people off the street just because they wear a Bulls hat.

Take a scalpel to government overspending instead of a sledgehammer, where you've already screwed up a frickton of times.

Keep the economy on the steady incline without raising inflation, losing jobs because companies will have to cut labor costs due to tariffs, and don't alienate your allies.

I think he's scared to fully go into tariffs. He really doesn't want to do it, but he's made such a grand show of it, he can't back down.. That's why they keep getting postponed. The thing with China is ridiculous. Not only does it harm big companies, small businesses are being killed that get products from china or parts or ingredients.

This is the issue that Trumpists seem to be glossing over. Being annoyed every time the market drops is silly; being annoyed because a politician took unilateral actions that caused a massive market drop is a perfectly reasonable thing to be annoyed about.

If Auburn ever needed a goal post moved, it would've been October 22, 2005 in Tiger Stadium.

Look it up if you don't remember it.

referred to “most people”…your average Joe on the street has no idea about 2022 being a bad year. All of them are now tariff experts.

Oh, y’all are serious.

Is that how this works - we just make shite up around here?

I’m not defending tariffs, but snobbery like this is why dems lost every swing state and got shellacked among low and middle income Americans.

2024 exit polls showed an historic number of voters (including democrats who voted for kamala) were unhappy with the economy due inflation.

Biden’s campaign was falling flat because he kept on trying to tell Americans to believe him on economy, rather than try to offer real solutions to their concerns.

Kamala tried a different approach by acknowledging there were serious concerns that she was going to fix.

Are you going to try and argue that the general public’s reaction to the market in 2022 was anything comparable to the sky screaming going on currently? They have not even been close to similar.

This board, as well as pt, was littered with posts throughout 2022 lamenting market performance.

Hell we had people claiming in 2023 and 2024 that their portfolios were still negative under biden.

Meh, the market isn’t the be all, end all and sometimes things need to be done for the sake of our nation. Now do I think Trump is handling the tariffs skillfully? Of course not. And keep in mind, the things we experienced the last 4 years were an utter and complete fraud. We were on an unsustainable path and if you can’t see that then I don’t know what to say.
