Is there any reason to think this stock will go back up now?

Pretty easy to understand. People bought at 10 thought it would go to 30. 20 is in between 10 and 30 so they stayed. Could they have taken a profit at 20? Sure. I’m one of those guys that sold Amazon at 2k and I regret that more than buying AMC. What’s the difference? It’s not that I “lost” in one and “won” in the other. It’s that looking back, and only by looking back, I’m judging my decisions on facts I know today but didn’t know then. I’ll buy something else later and do it all over again hopefully this time in the green

i get what you are saying, but buying amazon was buying based on fundametals. AMC wasnt it was absed on 86% of shares being shorted.

and when AMC sold off debt and flodded the market with shares, that should have been the geen light for pretty much everyone to sell imo.

but I have the benifit of hindsight and i get that. Some of yall just have much bigger balls than me.

I still can't entirely wrap my head around why the price is still dropping with so much volume in activity. The stock is clearly oversold, which generally means that the price should stabilize (at worst). It just seems fishy. I know AMC is far from a stable company but I'm holding on just in case this is a short term manipulation that will inevitably fail.

Holding everything until the bubble bursts is not having big balls, it's being foolish.

Well boys looks like i've got my first loss to report this year. Should have sold this when it got up to 14 for a very small gain. Now it looks like i will take a loss and hang on to the rest for a little while. It was fun for the whole 2 days i owned it

And if the bubble doesn’t burst and the stock spikes what then?

Y’all seem unable to comprehend the basics of gambling.

It was a short term manipulation that is in the process of failing. This stock isn’t 4 days old.

Well, because I'm investing, not gambling. You gamble long enough you're going to be out what you walked in with.

That’s what bothers me the most. The halting and unfreezes could have something to do with that or pure coincidence. It reminds me of pushing cattle through the chutes at the stockyard that allows the buyers to get a good look at their slaughter targets in a more organized way

No one looking at GME and AMC the last week was seriously investing. It’s gambling and no one should’ve put in more than they’re willing to lose. This whole fiasco isn’t a conversation about serious investing tactics.

This thing was always a frick you to the billionaires. Not a legitimate investment strategy.

you've got guys/gals from all experience levels reading these threads. YOU understand its gambling, but there's a guy above talking about AMC being "oversold" like market technical analysis actually applies here

yall need to be more careful in your choice of words. no, NOBODY should be taking investment advice here, but the fact is that many do. i believe there is a gaming board on this very site...perhaps these YOLO stock would be better discussed over there

This board gives some great investment advice. You in particular made me a bunch of money over the years.

This just isn’t the thread for it. This is a thread for self professed retards trying to frick billionaires out of money by gambling and holding. That’s what AMC and GME is.

I’ll always thank you for the FSLY tip though.

this is BS

this board has been an investment board for years, not a gambling one

hailstate et al lost this board collectively hundreds of thousands of dollars. it's disturbing

if you wanna gamble the fantasy sports board is open

It still is.

Picking individual stocks early is gambling. Stop pretending otherwise.

And there were two crazy events the last week or so in the stock market and this is the board to discuss the stock market. I don’t want this board to turn into WSB or anything like that but to pretend GME and AMC weren’t worth discussing or getting in and out of the last week is asinine.

It’s a money board not an investment how to board. There are ranges of topics from stocks to insurance limits. Personally I didn’t buy AMC solely bc it was mentioned here. I looked at what GME did and the theory of a squeeze and decided in my own to give it a shot. There’s bad advice everywhere on TD so you have to take it for what it is. Individual culpability matters

Uh....you may want to google the term "breaking even".
