I really think they came and talked to the landowners before doing the conservation research. I expect for them to back off, but I hope they don't for the PD landowners sake.

So were any offers made this week? Is Hillwood the Co. interested or is there others?

Two that I know of right now.

Lets add some perspective here....
Call what is under north bossier parish what you want - CV, Hosston, Smackdown, sand, shale, four corners, Koran store, Alden Bridge, Mott, key lime pie - it doesn't matter......IT'S GAS.
I am no O&G maven, but I can understand sand v. shale, consistency of the play, etc and I can look at a map of the parish and see gas fields all over the place. Now, can new technologies and new NG market dynamics make these fields more attractive....and the balance of north BP more prospective? Absolutely.
And that is really what we are talking about here....putting money in the pockets of north BP landowners. And the erudite sceptics can say what they want...but BP landowners aren't going to lease their land for $500/acre in this market. Forget it. Would you?
And if you think a 'modest' bonus - relative to HShale money - of $2,500/acre isn't enough to excite landowners who have been staring at pine trees for years - you have been watching charts far too long!

You guys just don't get it. Sure there might be natural gas under your land, but the reasoning behind the higher lease bonuses are, shockingly, the amount of gas under the land. In some crazy scheme to turn a profit, perhaps the oil and gas companies don't want to pay you 2500 dollars an acre for land that is only worth 10% of that.
The reason HS acreage can get 18,000+ an acre is because there's enough gas under that acre to justify the expense. Not to mention the possibility of a dry hole is greatly decreased in these wide sweeping plays.
It sucks to be on the outside looking in, but face reality.

Keep grasping at straws, pal. You guys have backtracked so much on this thread it's laughable. Reality is a bitch, ain't it?

4 good wells so far! I cant say that the meeting was very informative but the people I talked to afterwards had some very good info to share! Its just starting, so patience is a verture! And I really dont care what anyone has to say, it such a big play, no one really knows where it stops...

Don't pay attention to the negative you hear. I know alot more positive than I do negative about what is coming!!

From what I have seen on this thread, no one has backtracked. Pittboss and Tigerdog have held their position. Myself, Countryboy, Acadiana, MILR, have all agreed that good things are coming for that area. Please don't show your ignorance at our expense. Yes, we have joked around, but there has been some good info here too.
