re: Haynesville Shale North of Benton??

Nothing but it is a well that they are going back into to go deeper? There is a location in downtown Springhill going to 11000 ft. and another location between Springhill and Taylor on Hwy. 371, not sure what they are doing there?

I agree. I think that they meant to say $3500 and that might be on the high side!

I looked today and went as far as Cedar Bluff ranch. After looking on Sonris when I got home I think it may be the Montgomery well that they are going back into located at Cottage Grove in T21 and that would be close.Although from Gilliam the dereck looked like it wasn't far from the Red river on the Bossier side. Anyone else have a guess or know something I would love to hear it.

Flop, there is a well being drilled off of Old PD road. A Buddy and I saw it before daylight the other morning across the river from Gilliam. Do you know anything about this? We were shocked to see the lights on the dereck! I may take a ride today and see if I can locate it. Looks like it may not be far from the Prison.

And they will move it up to 22 in the near future! I think all the so called experts were on CHK's payroll.

May start finding out that Elm Grove might not even be the best this play has to offer with further drilling?

IF you will join gohaynesvilleshale.com there is a retired geologist by the name of Aubrey Sanders who has land in north Webster and is familiar with the north Claiborne area. He may can enlighten you with his expertise. He is very knowledgeable on geology and the O&G companies in that area. He is a member of several groups on the site. But it may be like he says sometimes...only the drill bit will tell!

Talking with them now. Seem to be a good independent to deal with. I like the way that they do things. NO offers made yet.

Don't know who told you this but if it is CHK or Petrohawk I would not believe anything they told me...they don't want landowners to know where the shale is...Ask Flop about the so called experts saying it won't go past T19. They have since disappeared off this thread. If shale is present in North Caddo do you not think it is also present in North Bossier? An old geologists told me that it is present here but to what extent it will produce only the drill bit will tell. I would believe him before any O&G company telling me it is not here trying to get a lease for little of nothing. Look at North Caddo as they drill further north and the shale is thicker than areas where activity has been booming to the south. CHK and Petro have their plate full right now. It may be years before they try and get further north but there are small independents looking and are very interested now. Might not get the big upfront lease money until one of them hits a good horizontal well up here! I myself will settle for less up front to get a well drilled. That is where you make your money!

NO I am still trying to verify lease on Old PD road near Penal farm. I will try and ride up Hwy. 3 north tomorrow to see if I can find anything. Getting skeptical on some of this stuff!
re: Will we see $200 oil in the next 3 years and how confident
Posted by countryboy on 9/10/08 at 8:50 pm to Golfer
That is exactly right about the $50 oil because we will all be using Natural gas in our vehicles I would hope. Then our farmers can start selling corn to the Arabs for $100 bushel unless they learn how survive drinking the stuff!!
