Left behind? You mean miss out on even money or at most a 2 percent gain? It's worth losing out on those small gains for some peace of mind that nothing catastrophic happens. I've leaving all my retirement money where it is but pulling my pay money right after a stimulus is agreed on or two weeks before the election, whichever happens first. Would rather have access to that cash and avoid the volatility.

Ok, but you are out of the market. At what point after the election do you get back in? Do you get in a few days after Nov 3rd if the market is up 2%. What if trump wins and market sky rockets? Do you wait and think to yourself its going to drop again? What if market does drop after the election? Are you going to buy immediately or sit on your hands and wait for it to drop more? Herein lies the dilemma. Good luck

I hope trump wins, I just think most people are letting politics cloud their judgement. Just my .02

This. I think it’s utterly preposterous. See it on both sides too.

I've invested for 20+ years and one thing I've realized is that I'm not smart enough to time the market. You risk missing out on some of the best days.

Should be a bumper sticker.

The world at large seems to have abandoned critical thought for political tribalism.

You can hedge against the volatility.

I looked at two investment properties Uptown and put together a solid investment analysis. Discussed with some advisors and they gave me sound advice.

My MIL told me to wait on acquiring two MF homes uptown until after the election. Didn't take a look at the analysis other than "her feelings." She does have 40 years experience and owns a number of units around town but, as you said, she

It's pretty clear the market has priced in a Biden win. The market isn't crashing if Biden wins
that's a level of ignorance I haven't seen in a while. If Biden wins, the dow will go down to 20K guaranteed.

Trump wins=Yuge Stimulus. The biggest. The best.
Biden wins= Even bigger stimulus.

This isn't hard folks.

Dems winning the Senate is the only way you get some big drawdown and even that seems like a stretch considering they aren't retarded enough to push heavy taxation facing huge deflationary forces. Maybe step back from the ledge.

Whether you like it or not, what he said is true. Given the current probabilities based on various polling data, that’s EXACTLY what the market is currently pricing in. No one is telling you to like it, but (to borrow a phrase), it is what it is.

I have no love for either candidate. But since the 1980s, I’ve made money through every administration except W. Bush part 2. So I don’t care. With my investments, I just look at the industries and sectors that should benefit more under one administration over the other... and what I can do to profit from that. With my options trading, I look for heightened volatility opportunities and try to profit from IV overstatement (read, other people’s outsized fears)... and make money from that. Working pretty well thus far, because there are always enough people with irrational fears.

No offense intended, but emotion based investors and weak-handed traders amuse me. But they afford me a nice lifestyle, so I’m happy that they exist.

Peace.

one is a successful RE guy and businessman and has fought establishment clowns on both sides and one who is a dementia riddled man with garbage far left policies who has been a piece of swamp trash in DC for 50 years roughly. left wing candidates have been trash post JFk and only getting worse. The days of it not mattering who gets in are over. you let these far left fools get in and you won't even have this convo about your money anymore at least on this level based on the level of socialits wealth redistribution they want and government control. look wtf biden wants to do to 401ks. taxes. thinks china is no problem on trade or jobs. just look around the world and see who creates wealth and with what policies. see why most the world is poor with shite governments. u can say we all got by with clinton and obama but if you are paying attention they don't want it that way.

well you are already dealing with a far left party of over taxation, over regulation open borders globalists who now want socialized medicine and the green new deal which will kill energy fossil fuel jobs and raise taxes through the roof. shite we are already stuck with unaffordable obamashitcare...imagine a single payer system here? just be ready IF NEEDED to protect principal. the old days of not having to worry about americas and your best interests by both parties is LOOOOOOOOOONG gone man. long gone. don't panic just be ready. my guess is while biden would be terrible for the economy he will spend like obama to keep market propped up. but what does the market rely on? if he is hurting business? do the math.

That’s cool, FB. But as a libertarian (with a small “l”), I feel that it’s up to ME to take care of me and mine at the end of the day. The last (only) political candidate that I really got behind, and actually did some work for, was Ross Perot in 1992. But since then, I’ve been a purely carpe diem kinda guy.
