Low volume slide down then someone picked up 750k shares.
I bought 1000 @ $4.77. just to play with.

SLI released their earnings report Friday and nobody has posted about it yet?
Ugh guess I actually have to read it now…

Didn’t see anything too interesting in their annual. They still have $130M cash which should support the market price right where it’s at (which isn’t to say it will, the market is panicking and dumb right now). DFS/FEED is estimated as 1H ‘23 which in my opinion guarantees it’s not coming first quarter so even more of a delay than we thought.
With over $100M cash in the bank and quarterly spend of less than $10M I just don’t see too much downside on price from here, but this damn 6 month timeline til news is gonna put pressure on regardless. I may sell just a bit more and look to buy back in if it gets to the sub $3.50 level or the year is coming to a close, whichever comes first.

Thanks for summarizing. Been a very crappy year in the market. Thank goodness real estate has kicked arse for me this year though it has shown to be slowing.
2-3 months ago would get 20 - 30 showings in a day- list Friday- go thru offers on Saturday- contract on Sunday. Now not near the volume. 8 - 10 showings - 2 to 3 offers.

Up 6% on a down day? Any news ?

Feels like it was just oversold. This stock moves up and down 20-30% for no reason on a regular basis

Just baiting in the fools like the rest of the market today

I just hope that Koch Engineering will get this thing out of academics and into production ASAP.

Feels like SLI is sleeping through a thunderstorm.

I saw Tesla was looking at Texas and Louisiana to build a Lithium Hydroxide Plant. thats stiff competition, unless they buy SLI for that plant
There is enough demand to build 20 plants from what it looks like though.

So, the plant that tesla is proposing is to convert the raw lithium carbonate from the miner to battery grade lithium hydroxide? Am I doing this correctly. So, they would need a supplier of the raw material? If so, it would seem that SLI is very well positioned to meet that need.

If Koch can drag them to the finish line, which seems to be the case at this point.

That is correct yes. To an extent.
SLI has a 100% takeoff agreement with Lanxess for all of the Lithium carbonate from the Lanxess plant. So they don’t really have LiCO to give to a potential Tesla plant as feedstock unless Lanxess opts out.
Their other project, the SW Ark plant, will be a full conversion facility so they’ll be bringing that product all the way to LiOH themselves.
ETA: This is all assuming the world is still using lithium when these plants come online in 2038

That stings. Good thing is this year has flown by and we are turning the corner on 2023.

Two proofs of concept were done 3 years ago.

Congrats to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal, and K. Barry Sharpless on being awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing “click chemistry.” Dr. Sharpless was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2001 and has been a scientific advisor to SLI since 2018. LINK
Posted from SLI’s fb. So maybe their chemistry does work?
