Cliff notes on the podcast:
- Andy Robinson and Will Smith are interviewed
- Lowry talks about how much fuller the plant was with equipment than when he visited last June.
- Robinson states they are making final "tinkers" to the pilot plant and about to freeze it as the design that will be used for the commercial plant.
- Robinson commits to pre FEED and FEED work done this year but doesn't directly answer Lowry's question on whether a construction announcement will happen this year or not.
- Will Smith provides lots of detail on his career path, perception of locals on SLI (loving the idea of new jobs), SIFT plant (4 operators working on it full-time, the tech of the future for sure).
- discussion on company culture and unique blend of personalities involved.
- 1st plant, to minimize execution risk, won't have the SIFT piece but future plants will.
- Amount of data captured is crazy (2,500 data points each half second).
- Somewhat addresses criticisms of the short reports on the lithium extraction rates. Purpose of pilot plant is to produce data not lithium chloride. Lithium chloride made usually goes right back down the hole.
-Lowry asks about potential of SLI's technology outside the Smackover (5-10 year view of where they want to be). Robinson is coy on that potential and focuses on the Smackover and says that Robert and him went there to focus on SW Arkansas.
Podcast left me wanting to buy back in for some shares, but man if they really don't get a JV announcement until 2023 I think $3-4 is not crazy town if the markets continue to crash.

You are right, but I think that is a PR mistake. It makes it easy for shorters to attack and scare people who aren't looking under the hood.

But does that effect the company in any way? Does it effect the technology in any way?
Who cares.

Au68,
I think you and I have similar amounts invested in this situation, so I know that we think about it a lot. Not going to lie, often I wonder if Mintak is just playing us in another lithium hopeful big hit, and a million other thoughts.
You (and I) would rather the share price be at $13 right now than 6.50. We could sleep better, and maybe sell some for a really nice return. Here's my optimism, on your argument that they need to be "showing" productivity in some manner with the demo plant:
Surely if this was a short game for Mintak, he would want the same. Pump it up quick, make it as pretty as possible, ramp the share price up as quickly as possible, sell some shares, then "whatever". But they don't seem to be doing that. They don't really seem to care what the share price is, which might be a good sign for us.
I think we will know when/if they care about the share price.
This doesn't terminate all of my thoughts about Mintak, but it is the positive that I find in this issue.

That’s why I’d rather they ride it out low to the Big Bang instead of multiple useless hot news releases to spike the price. The folks that need that really need to get another stock. Sorry for the beef.

Germany didn’t get the podcast memo....

Anybody see an article or anything? I’m seeing nothing that should make a 10% hit. This isn’t a market or sector thing. Very weird.
Posted on 2/14/22 at 7:21 am to Fe_Mike
I think overall market is pulling it down if I had to guess.
Posted on 2/14/22 at 7:28 am to ThermoDynamicTiger
But the overall market and the sector are doing fine this morning. Nothing comps right now.

I thought it was messed up how that Sli dude was bragging about his tree house when most of us are homeless due to Sli only going down
They’re buying second homes with our money

Overall market is down slightly, other stocks like LAC are down 2.5% premarket, piedmont is down slightly mimic'ing market.
The main thing that seems to drive SLI down with no news is interest rate moves since it trades more like a pre-revenue technology company than a miner. 10 yr is forecasting a big jump this morning almost to 2%, you got Fed president Bullard signaling panic this morning, It's not that surprising to me; it's off the lows, but it will probably be lower than 10% right after open and then recover slightly throughout day like it normally does. Let's see.

Just saw some longer dated options got added. Grabbed a 2024 7.50c for 2.45. Perhaps the added options activity is causing some volatility
Posted on 2/14/22 at 9:49 am to Neauxla_Tiger
If it’s only 7.50 in 2024 I’m gonna come back and haunt y’all
Posted on 2/14/22 at 10:16 am to el Gaucho
Haha no chance it’s $7.50
This will be $20 or pennies by then. Too much has to be confirmed or shut down in the next 12 months for this thing to not either fail or succeed. $5-10 is the speculative range. Definitive news, good or bad, takes us out of that range immediately.

Why do they release an 8k every day
Posted on 2/15/22 at 6:52 am to el Gaucho
Some rando commented on the SA article that BoA made a visit to the plant and seemed enthusiastic.
quote:
BofA visited last week SLI’s pilot play and was enthusiastic about the progress they made. Within the next few weeks there will be more investment banks who’ll visit SLI (and then we’ll be some price targets, just my opinion). If you want to know more about watch Manfred Maydorns Meinung on YouTube (today’s edition).

Very nice, very nice.
Gotta say, this down 10% one day then up 10% the next day is conducive to improving neither the long term share price nor my long term health.
