I think the Koch shares were not publicly traded outstanding shares but I could be wrong.

It's still more outstanding shares. Earnings/share. Same pie, more slices. But it could lead to bigger pie even faster with political clout. This was a very good move that apparently some dumbass got home and saw SLI was up cause of magic or some shite and unloaded some shares.

I have a feeling we may be about to get some more PR in next few weeks. No insight, just seems like a good time to start dropping bombs with more eyes on it and to further discredit Blue Orcha. This may nudge Lanxess to get off their asses and formalize JV and FID.
And if you're wondering, yes I do punch myself in the nuts daily for not sticking with my plan and letting Blue Orcha get the best of me.

what happens if a JV doesn’t happen with Lanxess?
It will, just maybe not to degree anticipated. I'm wondering if Lanxess was dumb enough to sell rights to other locations for cash in hand. Plus they do own like 7.6% of SLI. I could see them taking the easy, no risk money for less reward.
I'll be dumping my Lanxess if they are that stupid.

It’ll be interesting to see how Koch is able to trim down the project cost using their own engineering. Also regarding the feasibility study, it may not be some huge hurdle. The PEA was pretty detailed. They’ve done a lot of the legwork already.
That's exciting to have their engineers working on it. Will cut costs and likely speed things up.
I don't guess people realize that this is the same as Lanxess signing JV. Koch didn't sign on for $100,000,000 for some shite that don't work.
ETA-with their political clout, likely secures some of those $billions for domestic lithium and name recognition. Welcome to the big leagues.

I'm with ya man. Although it didn't happen at all like I expected, the chart moved like I thought and posted here month ago and since pea. Unfortunately I didn't follow through with my "back up the brinks truck if it goes under 8" part. Blue orca and lanxess quietness scared me into not growing the position past the size it already is and I just bought my swing shares back.
Still haven't had a chance to really dive down into the articles and news that came today but there's no way Koch does this without seeing hard numbers on what they are producing with demonstration plant. This is the single most validating thing that has happened in the year I've followed sli, who cares about the dilution. This takes alot of downside risk off the table in the near future. It kinda puts a dent in my main bear worry which was another company catching them doing the same thing.
My initial gut reaction is if you are planning to trade this name, I dont know if you buy right now. If you have limited powder, I dont know if you buy right now. If you are planning on holding long term and seeing this story out, and you have powder, buying anywhere 8-12 might not matter all the much. Having Koch in your corner is yuuuge from so many angles, besides only the 100 mil. They seem to have experience in this sector and connections and the money to do what ever they want without needing anyone else.
If this means they are going to have to move away from the lanxess jv route, then this is probably better for all of us small fries. Plenty of time to build up your position rather than waiting for 1 day where one release article drops early next year and validation comes all at once.
Off to pels game, ill dig down into this later.

$100M is damn near the TIC of Phase 1. I’m struggling to find a reason that they wouldn’t use almost all of it to complete that phase

Yea. I bought half back today because news normally sends this thing on a nice little tear for a week or so.
I still have significant concerns about this thing hitting stride into a bear market which will hurt bigly.
Lanxness really fricked us all on this

Agreed, if it had been Koch instead of Lanxess all along, we’d already be producing tens of thousands of tons of lithium each year.
Reading the PR again tonight, I’m struck that there is no mention of the Lanxess JV, just mentions developing the first Lanxess facility. And the PR talks about Koch providing construction expertise which Lanxess was supposed to do as part of the JV. Maybe we really are throwing those German cucks overboard finally and getting to extracting some god d*mn lithium!
Also Koch has a pretty much unlimited war chest while Lanxess squandered their liquidity on two tangential at best acquisitions. If you can’t tell yet, I really really hate Lanxess. If I had both SLI and Lanxess in the board room for an hour, I’d probably chew out Mintak for about a minute on investor communications and then spend the other 59 minutes chewing out Lanxess for their terrible decision making.

Because they can produce more lithium at a higher flow rate than that used to extract bromine. Lanxess fricked up. It appears SLI is saying hasta la vista mf'ers, hence their tone in recent call. Tetra site will waaaaaay outproduce Lanxess sites as it will be only for lithium, not bromine-a rate limiting step. And guess what? You're pulling from the same resource. Lanxess WAS important because it would be the easiest, cheapest, and fastest way to get going. But those dumb fricks seem to have stalled too long. Mintak goes to Germany and ask are they in and eating prime rib or still undecided other than dining on donkey dick. Mintak got Koch and prime rib, poor Klaus gets to dine on rancid donkey dick.
Koch has the balls to leverage Lanxess. If Lanxess units developed, I'll guarantee you it'll be a 70/30 or 80/20 for SLI. Mintak says "I'm the captain now mf'ers." Tetra site offers everything the Lanxess site does without being limited by the bromine business. Plus it's a little closer to Austin.
While Lanxess was having meetings to plan meetings to meet and discuss the SLI deal. Mintak found a girl that would put out and had a rich powerful daddy that plays hardball and disappears people.
I'm wondering now if the big Lanxess get together wasn't by one or a few people that get it. Bring the Germans over, show it and try to convince them they are sitting on a lithium mine! I think they thought SLI was bluffing and the tone of the call now seems like they were telling them to piss off. Wrong you dipshits. You'll fall for Hitler's shite and murder 6 billion jews, but you can't recognize a once in a lifetime opportunity to become the world's biggest lithium dick? That's why you are overrun with muslim immigrants, your music, TV, movies etc are all shite. You have a female leader and are pro-vax. And to add insult onto injury, you just got shat upon by some Canadians.

I'm going to unable to hold my laughter when Lanxess loses over half their workforce when they retire on their SLI gains.

And the next time I catch one hunting on my land, I'm not just gonna drive their car a little further down the road to frick with them, that bitch is going to the Ouachita. I got the perfect place to drop it for some flathead habitat.

I'm just fooling around. Kinda. I did drive a trespasser's vehicle waaaay up the road. His cursing may or may not have sounded German. I don't think he actually knew he was trespassing. Someone sent him to my stand that used to be their land. I thought it was humerous.
