This is how SLI should have responded!!!

We got their response today with 100 million from Koch.

I think we have to remember this company is German owned. I knew some Germans that owned catfish operations, they’re very different business wise than Americans. Very professional, very successful, very quiet in my experience.

I think SLI isn’t interested in getting into the mud and are letting results speak for themselves. This is my opinion and I could be wrong, but I don’t think SLI has poor management. They have new technology and are simply being hush hush about things until necessary.

There is a lot of tailbrine being produced in Arkansas. My guess is they would just shop another supplier. Albemarle would be the first thought, as their tail brine would look almost identical to Lanx. However, being a lithium producer themselves, that’d be quite an interesting relationship.

They could also look to O&G producers in the area who produce tail brine streams and often sell them in swap agreements for pennies on the gallon. They send tailbrine to SLI, lithium is extracted and the brine is neutralized, and it can be reinjected into the formation without the O&G producer needing to neutralize. However I’m not sure if their is something unique about the chemistry that would require the tailbrine to go through the bromine extraction first, so this option may not be real.

Third option would be to continue to take Lanx brine and eliminate the need for them to treat it. Bromine tailbrine is often very corrosive and eats up the O&G equipment.

Outside of the Lanx JV just going through as planned, I’d be all about SLI changing gears and pursuing a partnership with Albemarle. I know they say dance with the one you brung, but if Alb comes knocking while your date is sitting on the bleachers bored, you go dance with the prom queen.

ETA: and since I’m making this ridiculous speculation post that isn’t going to happen, lemme just add in the other google buzz words

Tesla
TSLA
Musk
Moon

Nice article. So I guess I’m dumb, what happens if a JV doesn’t happen with Lanxess? Will SLi pay Lanxess for the brine to be brought in and out of their system?

With Koch now being a strategic partner and investor, there should be no issues either moving this forward with Lanxess or utilizing the resources at Koch to provide/acquire the feed stock.

It was a really good article. He sounded pretty confident about his position in SLI but he did wait until today to write it. Could’ve used that last Friday.

It’ll be interesting to see how Koch is able to trim down the project cost using their own engineering. Also regarding the feasibility study, it may not be some huge hurdle. The PEA was pretty detailed. They’ve done a lot of the legwork already.

The AH volume can't possibly be retail, its too high. Something to do with Koch shares, maybe?

I’m not selling again. I’ll just buy more next dip.

I’m a firm believer now
