WiFi bridge questions/options

Posted by snake2985 on 3/13/24 at 8:28 am
I’m looking to bring WiFi into my metal building shop about 300’ from my router/modem. I have a wired Ethernet port on the back of my house. Im thinking a wireless bridge with to an access point is the best option but looking for feedback. This is the hardware I’m considering. I’m wondering if I just put another access point on the back of my house if it would be enough to get a good signal into the metal shop about 150’ away. Any thoughts?

The tract is about 250 acres. About half of it is in 20 year ish planted pine. It’s been thinned once. Other half is hardwood.

Timber Cruise Needed Alexandria area

I’m looking at a piece of property in central Louisiana and looking to talk to someone about the current value of the timber and what’s the optimal timing to cut it. Any recommendations from the OB.

Golf green in backyard

I’m thinking about growing a golf green in the backyard. It sounds fun but I’m sure I’m overlooking a ton of work. Any advice for winter prep, cautionary tales of don’t do it, or words of encouragement to start. BTW, I’ve got no clue what I’m doing but have never let that stop me before. I tend to learn better on the fly after I’ve screwed up a few steps.
If single story: a door with stairs to the attic, you wouldn't believe how much more useful the attic is when you don't have to use pull down stairs. I also did whole house spray foam so the attic stays about 10 degrees warmer than the house. Again, makes great storage space and gives better options for expansion in the future if needed.
Just got a 10’ from lowes in Gonzales, La for $169. Just a regular fir.

What to do with coyote pelts.

Looking to do some predator control at the camp. Got several yotes on camera sticking around. Is there anything worthwhile to do with the pelts? Hunting in north Louisiana live in south Louisiana
In most cases the copyright means that you can't distribute the plans, it is intellectual property for a specific job, however, if you paid for them for your house, you can use them. Also, if you change things more the 20% it also usually over rides intellectual property rights.

re: Water pump for pond?

I've got a similar setup on my pond. I used Pump and run it on a timer. Works great. Only thing to consider is make sure you have enough lift on the pump to create your desired fountain features.

Nice article. So I guess I’m dumb, what happens if a JV doesn’t happen with Lanxess? Will SLi pay Lanxess for the brine to be brought in and out of their system?

With Koch now being a strategic partner and investor, there should be no issues either moving this forward with Lanxess or utilizing the resources at Koch to provide/acquire the feed stock.

I planted clumping bamboo about 6 months ago and its starting to fill in. It gets about 8-10' tall and makes about a 4-6' circular clump. I should be filled in pretty good when springtime rolls around.
There's a company MNMD that you can look into that works in this space. I have a small position.

Do you have a brand of power tools. If so, I would go with that brand for maximum battery usage. I have Dewalt power tools and also have a Dewalt blower and weed eater, they get the job done for me.
