re: Pool setup help - snake2985
It is not necessary to run the heat on the spa daily if you are not going to use it. Even if the chlorination is not on, there is still chlorine in the pool and it will get circulated. You may want to turn up the chlorination, especially this time of year, I have mine set to 80% with the hot...

Where to get Bulk Mulch Prairieville Area - snake2985
I need to create new beds from scratch and I figure I need 300 cubic feet or about 11 yards of mulch to do what I want. I'd rather not have to buy 150 or so bags of mulch and would prefer to get a truck load. So far the place I've checked are either out or only have red. I would prefer brown/natural...

re: cordless blower and other cordless tools - snake2985
I'm in the Dewalt camp, the 20/60 Volt flex system gives you a good combination of power and battery life. On the bigger yard equipment I use the 60V batteries and the hand tools I use the 20Vs but you can put a 60V battery on a 20V tool. Never tried it the other way so not sure if it works....

re: Wiring for a workshop - snake2985
I would definitely put a sub panel in the shop and supply your lights and plugs from that. To start I would run some 6 AWG wire from the house main panel to the shop, that will get you about 50 Amps service to your shop. It will run the lights and routine use plugs. If you need more than that, get a...

Whats the best cordless Frogging light - snake2985
With frog season right around corner, I'm getting my gear ready and I'm tired of lugging a 12V car batttery in the boat to spot frogs. Do any of you have a recommendation on a rechargeable light that throws a good spot and last at least 4 hours to catch a few frogs. ...

re: Thinking about building a house, need some pros & cons from some of the local builders - snake2985
Whats the goal of this home, is it a starter or a forever home. You can find some examples of most of the builders previous neighborhoods in the parish. Drive through and see how they have held up. re: Opinions on Spray Foam Insulation in New Construction - snake2985
I go with option A.I have done spray foam now on 4 personal houses over the last 10 years and I will do it on the next if there is one. The biggest thing is to make sure you have an HVAC company that is well versed in dealing with it. I use Central Heating and Air in Baton Rouge and the guy did a ma...

re: Contract for hiring vendors - snake2985
Unless you use a company, you are going to have a hard time enforcing any "contract" you get someone to sign off the street. The best leverage you can give yourself I have found is to withhold payment until the work is finished. At least if someone walks off your job you can hire a replacement. ...

Advice for Elk Hunting Colorado - snake2985
A group of guys and myself are trying to figure out where to go in Colorado to shoot an elk. This is more for the experience than the trophy aspect of the animal. Can anyone recommend a semi-guided or drop camp outfitter that you have had success with? This would be for the OTC 2nd or 3rd rifle seas...

Crawfish burner - snake2985
It's time to upgrade/replace the ole single jet burner crawfish pot. I busted it out this weekend and its beginning to show its age, I'd also like something that heats the water faster. I think the double jet burner would do it: [link=(https://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-SP2-Double-Cooker/dp/B00...

re: What type of contractor to install cooktop exhaust system - snake2985
An HVAC (heating, Ventilation, air conditioning) professional should do this. You should be able to cut a hole in the roof and vent out there. You would only need makeup air if the CFM of the hood is over 360 and even then not in all instances...
