Can you elaborate how you lend out shares? Sorry just started trading within the last year. I dabble in options but I’d like to learn more

I signed up through a program called Fidelity Fully Paid Lending (as I use Fidelity as my brokerage company). Basically you are lending out shares to short sellers and earn an interest rate on that in return. I'm getting 6.25% on SLI shares right now, while Fidelity charges the short sellers probably 12%+ (you get about half of the rate they charge I think). The rate you get varies by stock, I'm getting 6.25% on SLI, 3% on NVVE, and 2% on ASTS. There aren't really any restrictions it places on your account, you can sell whenever you want, so it's pretty much like free money that you can earn. There is a lot of paperwork to fill out, but it only took me about a week or so to get enrolled. They do have some restrictions on what account types and $ thresholds are eligible. HSA's and 401K's are not eligible while IRA's and brokerage accounts are. I think your brokerage account has to have >$250K balance to be eligible.

I'm still mad that Schwab has yet to offer SLI out to lending. MY lending account has been active, but 0% SLI lent out.

My shares were loaned from October 25-29th. They have not been loaned since then.

We are tracking Tesla pretty closely today again.

Thanks for the response, sounds like a great deal. Getting interest on your shares but still allowing your shares to make money

Yeah I'm getting like $10,000 here in just a few days for the October income. Best part is the Roth lending income gets deposited straight back into my Roth accounts, tax free!

I've got to get mine switched to Fidelity and get all that paperwork filled out. I'm an expert level procrastinator.

Is anyone doing the lending via Vanguard? I haven't figured that one out yet.

Made about $1200 in my IRA's last month on FPL. Got to pick up nearly 100 more shares.
