Just noticed this while reading some news on Lanxess:
Lanxess CEO Plans More Acquisitions -Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger
12:22 pm ET February 15, 2021 (Dow Jones) Print
--German chemicals company Lanxess has more than EUR1 billion available for acquisitions and plans to buy further, Chief Executive Matthias Zachert told the Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper in an interview.
--The executive added that the company's consumer-protection division has developed very positively and will close 2020 with a margin above 20%, while he expects growth in all segments in 2021, according to the newspaper.

I wonder if that means anything for us STLHF fans?

Perhaps, although in some ways it would be sad for the STLHF story to be over. I'd take $15 per share for a buyout though. That would be a 10 bagger for a lot of the people on this thread that invested in it.

Well, $15 would be nice, but lanx only has $1b euro to acquire ($7-$8)

Well, they are gonna need some debt to finance that acquisition then!

Yea dammit, I want to see that mars rover.

7 per share would be disappointment considering the potential here
IMO this is comparable break through in technology as the FCC was to refining.

Some good news or upward momentum would be wonderful

This is a long term play. Buy on dips and enjoy the rips over the long term.

The last twelve months have distorted how new investors look at stocks.
Hell, the ten years before the last twelve months have distorted how new new investors look at stocks.

A few weeks ago I proclaimed... that I had bought all the STLHF that I was buying.
Added 3000 more since then.

This is not new technology.

Right, the basis of the technology was developed by Dow in the 1960’s or 70’s. My understanding is STLHF has modified the known technology to match the known brine composition specifically at Lanxess. Other than that, it’s more of a situation where the demand for lithium is finally getting to a point where the price/quantity for lithium demand makes the project feasible.

Dow has attempted to squeeze every ounce of profit from brine production. Hopefully we benefit from Std tweaking it. As far as money goes, Germany now has gone negative on rates, buyout money will be cheap if they need to borrow

We don’t really expect a buyout though, do we? Everything that has been discussed so far is a JV speculated at 70/30 in LX favor with LX putting up the capital to build the new units.

They have the JV tentatively in place but buyout discussions in this thread go way back. Many thought buyout would happen in 10 to 15 dollar range

I know zero about mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. But in the last few decades of companies changing names at a break neck pace, it's hard not to recognize the possibility for it any stage of any game.
Again, I know nothing, but I'm guessing most of us would rather see it all play out and supposedly see big price per shares. Then again, there's risk there for unseen obstacles, versus the risk of what goes on in a buyout negotiation and the following price per share payout.
The dream is real for either

The buyout talk has just been speculation. It was based on LNXSF’s cost of full project. They could recoup their investment in short order if they did. However, I’d expect STLHF insiders to be accumulating more shares if it was pending. STLHF will operate and keep all revenue for the first 12 to 24 months once production begins. If it were to happen, I think it would be after or towards the end of that time.

Not exactly hard hitting DD, but with news that GM will be building a battery plant likely in TN I was curious and opened up Google Earth. If you draw a line between Austin, TX (TESLA) and Nashville, TN (GM) the midpoint of the line lands in Union County, AR which is where the Lanxess facilities (and STLHF) are located. Can't be a bad thing!

Has Standard Lithium secured any buyers of their refined lithium as of yet? Or is this idea all conceptual?

Also,
So 1 ton of lithium carbonate goes for about $13,000 usd currently.
The pilot plant puts out what, 100-150 tons per year?
The expansion goal in mind is 50,000 tons per year.
That’s a revenue of $650,000,000.
Does that seem like very little or is it just me?
