Me and wife changed jobs so my overpayment of FICA was destroyed by under withheld federal taxes.

I guess I will be filing 4/15 baws

Held extra $25 a week still owe $4k

Bonus get off my lawn- turbo tax won't show you how it hits form because they don't want you ripping them off. I would like to work on tax form see if it makes sense.

I owe money might just go back to paper and pencil file F then

The newish IRS W4 is pretty good for estimating your taxes and is very simple to use.

Y’all are crazy to pay the criminal cartel in DC, NY, London, Rome, Switzerland and Israel one red cent.

So what. You can fund your own demise?

They are laughing at you while stealing your labor. Not your money (they can print and devalue plenty of that). Your LABOR and TIME.

Money expands.
Time contracts.

Focus on what really matters.

Godspeed.

I am a citizen of this country. I am subject to the laws. The laws require my compliance or penalties. I like living in my own home, so I comply. I hate it, but I do.

What is your suggestion? Move to some shithole and convince myself it is great? Just be subject to penalites and punishment?

I only owe $9k this year after owing $14k last year. Luckily I've got some RSUs vesting in May so it won't hurt so bad.

That is crazy to me. If I’m filing forms and signing my name on it, show me the form.

Can they not give an option to prepay so I can see the form before I file?

Cash App will let you file for free. You could enter all your info there and see if you get anything different or if you can at least see the detail you want.

Standard deduction went up some. Any changes in income? Bonus?

My wife got a hefty bonus this year. Naturally federal tax was way over withheld but no state taxes were withheld. $14k refund from feds and $5k payment to state.

She almost put us over the limit for Roth IRAs and wouldn’t let her put any of it in 401K

That might be it but no significant change in salary or bonus (maybe 4%). I usually either owe $100 or get around $100 refund but this year was $1,100 refund.

I was expecting the opposite with the child tax credit change but I wasn't aware of the standard deduction change.

Be like Latoya Cantrell. Just don’t pay. You’ll get elected mayor once you owe over $100k

Been a few years, but pretty sure once you pay you can see/print your forms.

They changed several years back so you have to pay to see the forms because so many people were singing up online, dropping the info in, viewing the forms, then filling out their own paperwork to avoid paying the $30/40 (I'm sure prices are higher now).
