Hyatt has been the best hotel transfer in my experience with rooms as low as 5,000 points per night.

I haven’t done any airline transfers outside of southwest which is a basic ~1.5 value.

Is it even that high? You still get $300 in travel credits each year effectively making the AF $250 right?

You have to make up a total of $550. You need to spend $300 in travel to get 300 back. So there is $300 of the $550. The 1.5x points gives you a 1/3 discount of travel booked through there service, assuming you have enough points. So if you spend $750, it will only cost you $500. A savings of $250. Adding up what you have to spend on travel is $1050 to break even on the card.

AMEX has better airport lounge access which is my favorite part of the CSR.

CSR lounges are typically international airline lounges (like KLM lounge) and therefore located in the international terminals which I’m obviously never nearby when flying domestic. Also, the lounges are typically overcrowded.

The Centurion (Amex) lounges are usually nicer, with better food and in your domestic terminals. You also have access to Delta lounges which I hear are nice but haven’t been into.

No sweat for me personally.

Usually not a problem either. Also, it looks like the lyft thing is already active. I probably spent $80 worth of lyfts this weekend for the national championship game and all of my expenses paid back 10x.

Marriott is the best transfer right?

The worst. You should only transfer points to Hyatt, it gives more value than everything else by a long shot

AA locking, shutting down accounts and canceling flights left and right for folks who signed up for too many 9 digit mailer SUBs per year.

Citi was sending out mailers for AA credit cards with a sign up bonus.

People figured out if you used the code on the mailer, you could get as many AA cards as you want.

People were selling the codes etc and people just kept signing up over and over. It was destined for failure and doom.

But if you don't GAF if you're banned from AA and their miles program and flew biz/first for the past couple years frequently, then win for you.

This. Singapore, Dubai, Maldives, Japan, Vietnam, HK, Korea, New Zealand, UK, Paris, Spain, Italy, st lucia, turks, grand cayman over the past yrs courtesy of AA. Kept accruing more pts faster than I could burn. Would have taken me 50 yrs to gain those pts conventionally.

Good stuff. I hope you flew some folks with you.

I feel bad for the poor sap who never got to burn them. You know there's a few out there.

You do until Citi gets behind AA and your cards are canceled and you're blacklisted.

Eh, I travel for free and don't have to worry about things like that. To each his own.

SW has an amazing deal right now, but they’ve changed their terms to where you are ineligible if you’ve received a new card bonus within 2yrs. I missed by one month

75k points, 75 dollar credit, and 4 free upgrades for $150 annual.

SW has some great deals but the limited airport access takes away the shine for me
