The main thread is 9,500 posts and hard to decipher

I have bitcoin money in Coinbase but want to buy cryptos not currently in Coinbase how do I transfer the bitcoin to spend my bitcoin on other ones elsewhere?

Also what are the most undervalued alt coins?

I think you have to transfer it over to binance. From there you can buy multiple coins.

It can tAke quite a while. Faster to buy LTC and then use it to buy BTC on binnance

Go to Binance/Bitterex select LTC, ETH, BTC (prefer LTC/ETH due to fees) get the address, copy it, go to your CB, go to accounts, click send, past the address in send box, wait 30-45 minutes. Go back to Binance/Bitterex and buy what you want using one of the ones you sent from, if you do LTC to Binance you have to sell the LTC to get BTC then buy the alt. So you pay a lot of sees with all of the sending and selling.

An example I did ETH last night

Sent $50 ETH to Binance, I was charged 0.001155 ETH to send, then when I bought I was charged another fee of my Ripple I bought.

So instead of getting $50 worth I got essentially 47 dollars worth

- Buy BTC or ETH in coinbase
- register for Binance (if you want IOTA)
- make sure you have 2FA on both sites
- go to deposit/withdraw funds on binance
- click deposit btc (or eth) whichever you have
- copy the address
- go back to coinbase and send it to the address
- now, you can have btc in iota
- go to the exchange on binance
- sell your btc for iota and done

Two factor authentication. For example: you sign in with your password (1st authentication) and then they send you a code through a text message to confirm it's really you (2nd auth)

I highly recommend Google Authenticator. It's free, works on Android or iOS phones, and works with both Coinbase and Binance.

I also use it for my Amazon account, Facebook, SANS ISC, and even our EDR solution here at work.

Two-factor via SMS, while better than not having 2FA at all, has security issues (SIM swaps mainly) and using an authenticator app on your phone is the preferred method.

It's an app on you phone that generates a six digit code randomly every 30 seconds or so. When you enable 2FA on your Binance and/or Coinbase account, you'll log in with your username/password. Then you'll be prompted to enter the six digit code from Google Authenticator on your phone.

The idea is that even if someone where you get your username/password, they still can't access your account without your phone.

Thanks. How do you go about cashing out from exchanges? With CB it's as easy as just cashing out and it goes right to my bank.

But if I do end up transerring ETH to binance so I can dabble around with iota or others, let's say I'm happy with some gains and want to "cash out"..how does that work? Do I simply go to my account and transfer it back to Coinbase in the form of ETH?

Exactly what I've done over the past couple of weeks.

I own a whole bunch of Ripple, having a good day!!!

Got some Iota too, but way too late, I missed the big upswing.
