No it's supposed to outpace USD loss of value. We don't care about a 1 year chart.
Gold has lost against the USD for decades until this recent breakout.

I’ve seen it posted that Bitcoin follows a 4 year cycle and we’re nearing the top of that cycle now. If that’s accurate, a halving and price drop should be on the horizon.
Do you agree with that strategy? I’m saving a bit of powder in hopes that occurs.

Historic trends. Also said once it gets to around 125k it will go back to about 100k and then go to 150k
