At just over $18, I can't see how T is not a long-term buy and forget you even own it play. Look at that p/e. Interested in the Money Board's view.

The company has been in constant turmoil the last several years. They are still reeling from poor CEO decisions over and over.
It "seems" like a safe bet but it clearly hasn't been in recent times. If you like the move from being in video content creation, streaming platform provide, Live TV service provider to being in none of that and only doing cell phone services and home fiber internet, then jump on it.
EDIT: And At&t is one of the most "woke" companies out there. Forced vaccinations, white guilt, etc. They push all of it.

I thought the same thing last year. $29 seemed like a fair price. Sold at $27.

I own 50 shares @ 20 . Getting a little over 50 dollars in Dividends @ year. Just going to let it sit and collect Divs.

just bought back in this morning on the dip. Counting on Divvy staying strong.

Raises hand - bought for the dividend and just to park money for a while when it was $29-$32 before the spin off. It literally sat in that range for years.
Yeah, that didn’t work so well. Waited for it to get back to a semi-respectable price and got out

Debt. All. That. Debt.

Spent 5 yrs there as an employee. One of the worst run organizations I've ever been a part of.

.
As a current holder, I can’t rationalize buying more. It’s getting hammered today too.
The dividend might be a reason to buy but I think Verizon could be a better overall choice for both dividend and potential share appreciation.

I'm in a similar situation, although not the same. My average cost is $20.1/share so it dipped in the red today with the large % drop.
I'm actually about even when you factor in the dividends I've received and re-invested over the past 2.5 years. Still not good at all though
I've been buying my cost down and bought more today. My plan is to exit my position entirely the next time it pops above $20/share. Hopefully that is sooner than later. I'm tired of looking at T in my trading (separate from my investing) account.

ATT is still $2 above its 52 week low.
The dividend yield is only half a percent better than Verizon.

Ever had their fiber, though? Best interest I’ve ever had.

Garbage organization, wouldn’t go near it in any capacity.

At 17.5 i'll add more for the dividend alone.

Same here, especially during the WFH quarantine days. Never even had a hiccup when my dumb employer added every VPN tunnel and software they could think of, my ATTT underground fiber never even blinked.

Never buy a stock just for the dividend.

Yea, only idiots invest for div yields.
That is a little disingenuous to say those people were buying those stocks "only" for the dividend. They bought specific high quality dividend paying stocks.

I own over 300 shares of T. I still buy when it hits lows. Good dividend and the recent spin off was good. I think that leads to a better focus for growth in the future. T is a cash machine and the current price seems good to me based on P/E under 9. That said, I’ve got my next order set at $17 and I think it will get there when we hit full recession.
